The M800-definitely not hot. The U-VA-not hot, but hot 'cause it is relatively new in the market and is selling adequately. This is how i'm building this thread.

Skoda(India) Fabia...hot uppity hatch...now with a 1.2liter engine and lower price...around 5.5lacs..similar to Swift.

Absolutely fabulous. You must be so very proud of the heights indian automobile industry has achieved. and why shouldnt you be.

If you could briefly touch the role, indian govenment has played in developing this industry. I mean tax rebates, spending on R&D, etc etc.

Thanks for your appreciation. I enjoy surfing thru PW while at work. Beats boring stuff like Analytics, Business Process Re-engineering et al that i have to deal with every day. 'Proud' is too strong a word re: the Indian car scene. Astonished is more like it!. I would like to see more sports cars being made available through local manufacturers , thereby making them more accessible to the average buyer. As far as the Indian Govt.'s role, it is always the Govt. anywhere in the world that is the great enabler. Insofar,as that part is concerned ,all kudos to the Indian Govt. for providing a level playing field. The rest is up to the market. And, the market is huge in India for any product, from pencils to planes!.
