More voices of the people. Nissan rolled out the 100,000th Micra from it's 'Star Alliance' factory in Chennai more than two months back. Ofcourse, most of the cars were for export which is the key to the success of the auto industry here. It's always the economy, stupid!, as the saying goes. And, it is always the middle class which calls the shots,not the rich and powerful. Ignore them at your own peril as Toyota and Honda had learnt a bitter lesson and now responding to this very powerful segment. Hence the Etios/Liva and Brio.

The Voice of the People

So, i drive into the nearest mall to stock up on juice/ soda for the week and the moment i step into the atrium i espy the new Toyota Liva. And, i decided to gauge the popularity of this model by watching the display, which only proves my theory about the vast middle class. Cater to them and you're made. A picture tells a thousand words.

The Etios and Etios liva look like they are going to give a tough competition being toyota and toyota being known for its quality and reliabilty, But i see in India people arent realy brand concius they seek value for money. (which is realy gud)

Just like toyota got the Vios in Malaysia/Thailand/Indonesia, This luks to be a great car for the indian market, if priced reasonably they can launch the Etios Liva replacing Coure in Pakistan, And competing the Swift segment with Suzuki.

I've been waiting almost a month now for these wheels for my Nano. TATA Motors seems to be having a problem with the vendor who makes these wheels and i don't want any other.They cost RS2039 a piece and i'll have to wait a little longer.

The all new 2011 Ford(India) Fiesta is next. The same car is sold in the US, UK, Europe and India. You'll have to wait a bit for it. Hope you enjoyed the show so far. Later.....

@nick, Hatches are my all time personal favourites, as you wud have noted, i loved the Polo, Vento was a turn off for me, (altho Vento is now likeable to be) Similarly i liked the Liva better, But since im a student i have a different state of mind as off now, May be it changes by time

Nano lx model comes with driver side mirror as standard equipment. I haven't felt the need for the other mirror as there's good visibility all around.

Currently, yes and Madras is the source of 95% of the car pics(TN state code on licence plate) in this thread. This will change early next year as you can see in my signature.

I think i finally deserve a small vacation, don't you think?. Anyways, after the refreshed Corolla, the Etios/Liva , the new Fiesta and a host of new cars entering the Indian auto market every month, i still stand by the white car(not my own) in the pic below. Maybe it's 'cause FIAT had a major 'hand' in it. Which is all for the good, i might add.

My best buy, new or used, in the mid-size, mid-price range sedan class available in India today. And, i'm entitled to my opinion.
