Finally, my brotha. New Swift launch to take place 1st or 2nd week of August. I'm thinking of trading in my Estilo for the new Swift next month.And the end is in sight for this thread too.

The new Maruti Swift launch date has been announced as August 17, 2011 and dealers have already started taking bookings for the new car and existing bookings for the old Swift have been transferred to the new car list. Deposit amount is Rs10,000/-

Thanks. re: Amby comment, maybe you're watching way too old movies but the fact is that the Ambassador is an iconic car like the London taxicab and Ford Crown Vic that it transcends time and people have an emotional bond to these cars.So, such cars are always magnified on screen beyond reality. The photo you have posted is from 2001 when the last remnants of the babu car existed. Nowadays babus drive around in the latest cars too. You rarely see one on the road nowadays. And, please move beyond the cliches. This is so boring:D

Thankees. My local hypermart at EA Mall( dat y u see so many pix from there here) has a bakeout every Sunday where their bakers come up with different concept cakes every weekend and they then sell a piece of the cake for Rs20/- and last Sunday they were asking for suggestions from the public. I'm gonna ask them to try the bumblebee coming Sunday. Everyone has seen T-3 and there's a multiplex in the same mall so it wouldn't be a problem explaining anything, i'm sure. Nice video.

I drive to my local tire store to get new alloys for my SX4 fixed and i see a Babu Gaadi parked up front. Long time since i saw one and apparently the store has a tire maintenance contract with a Govt. agency. This one is a 2009 model and i'm telling you, much as i am not a big fan of this car and neither sentimental about it like hordes of Indians, i LoVe the rear seat which is a sofa. I sat in the rear seat while the car was driven up the ramp inside and loved it.

Recommended attire while sitting in an Ambassador car is white kurta-pyjama or dhoti, white sandals, gold or gold plated watch and chain with really dark cooling glasses. All you need is to stand for election and WIN. Just teasing. Tamil Nadu state Chief Minister is a lady and she uses a laptop to communicate with Babus while traveling and her official ride is a Mitsubishi Montero. Life is full of cliches.

I have pics from last week when Hillary Clinton was in Chennai to inaugurate Asia's largest public library and to do business. I got caught in the traffic snarl as the library is located on a road i take to get to my office and took pics of her motorcade. I'll post them later. Chennai is now the designated destination for American businesses in India and in terms of number of Visas issued, the Chennai US Consulate is the second largest in the world.

Oh my God these options of the new Swift are growing on me.
The interior is really really good plus the Multimedia Steering Wheel.
The rear lights are although hard to digest:$

The Swift with this options will be in Pakistan by the end of 2030 with a price tag of no more than 25 lacs

Im officialy jealous :rolleyes:, But seriusly speaking the Swift didnt impress me much this time, Altho im going crazy about its interior and the one who owns one should be happy abt the lovely interior, thats where hes going to spend of the time. But the extirior would take time to get me liking it.

btw ive got some insiders from Paksuzuki, that they are working on making carbies Efi-cient, The bolan Ravi (carry) Changing to Every Van.

Maybe Kizashi is coming (but 2.4 isnt easy to swallow for me atleast),

The Gypsi (potohar) is discontinued here, they are importing the Jimny here now. But it costs 3 times more to the consumer.

The Maruti Eeco and Omni are the worst vehicles to have ever been built by humankind. I have NO IDEA what the engineers up in Gurgaon were thinking.

Taxi operators buy the Eeco by the thousands, sadly, so it'll be a few years before these people start to realise they purchased a pile of garbage. The Omni is becoming less popular by the day (well, in urban India i.e), so hopefully, Omni-less days aren't that far away.

The Gypsy is manufactured for civilians only on special order, the bulk of them goes to the armed forces.

Probably the main reason being hyundai, and the looks of the car, they are just fantabulous, the car looks like it came out from a fairy tale or maybe out of Jetsons, and its still balanced from every angle you see it to looks yummy,
