I realy dont like the alloys on the Indian Swift and now Dzire, they make the car look slugish.
I agree with your observation. Luckily , aftermarket brand name alloys are now made in India and therefore reasonably priced so one can exchange factory alloys and pay the difference for a brand new set of one's liking.
Today was a national holiday and therefore was a pleasant experience driving around. And, ofcourse i took a few pics too.
The official car of the Indian President has always been a Pullman since the model was first introduced in the 1960's. Today the latest version went into service at the Republic Day parade in New Delhi. Here are a few stills of the car for fans of state cars.A LHD version was on display at the New Delhi Auto Expo.
For video of the car , click on the link below and start viewing from '29:10' onwards,

WOW! That looks smashing! Do I see a Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) Monogram on the front grill?
P.S: thanks for the link to the Republic Day parade...brilliant stuff!
Yeah. The truck is made by BEML under licence from Tatra. I would love to drive one of these monsters. And, this year's republic day parade was tasteful. I liked it too especially the flypasts.
spotting from today. i also espied the actor Dhanush who sang the song 'kolaveri di' at a store opening in a mall too. The Jag's color is nice.
Now i know this petrol station

I'll drop in a Maruti showroom and post my own pics and review in a day or two. Till then, cya.
Dzire luks good to me, The wooden touch in the interior looks gud to, Altho the side Swift touch makes it look small, But over all looks very much competitive in the segment.
The new Swift D'Zire is more of a notchback than proper sedan but is spacious for it's class, has adequate luggage space and the dash is better than my Swift's dash:(, as you will see in the next post. This car looks better than the Swift hatch, IMO.
Excellent! Congratulations, Nick!
Thankees.
This is the 2nd generation Swift with a boot. And, boots are useful appendages to have when you need them. The new car is shorter than the previous model to avail of tax concessions from the Raj but is wider and therefore space is adequate front and rear and i found the dash quality to be superior to the hatchback's dashboard. Price is also expected to be lower than the previous model due to the size advantage(400mm or less as per the Raj's rules). Overall, my initial rating is a B+ which is much higher than my rating for the previous model. I took few pics. More will be forthcoming as i profile this model in detail.
Later.....
I took these pics while returning from the office earlier this evening.
