I got news on the new Santro. Much as i like to gawk at exotics i'm a fan of regular cars and follow the progression of certain models. The Santro is one of them. Here's info on the new Santro from one of the Indian auto websites and this info was posted by an insider who also keeps track of such.

currently ,maruti swift vdi is superseded by Fiat Punto and Hyundai i20 diesel.most reviews are more i20 diesel vs punto .I think many might have seen the punto television ad with yuv raj singh.

They make the Getz, i-10 , Santro and i-20 cars in India for worldwide distribution with 100% Indian made parts and engines!.The Avante sedan and new Santro are the company's new releases expected this year in India.

Thanks!. There are Corvettes. Just that i haven't highlighted them here, nor had the chance to photo one in Madras. More 'Vettes in Mumbai so i'ii try and photo some in September. Be easier, i hope. Check out the import section of any Indian auto website and you'll find some, though they're more into German and Italian cars.

it is a costly car for a diesel one,priced at around Rs6.5 lakhs Indian Rupees(INR) .but the so called "super mini" segment or the bigger hatchbacks -may have good demand due to the ease of zipping through traffic congested cities like bangalore,bombay etc. Honda Jazz vs Fiat Punto vs Hyundai i20 vs Indica Vista is the current market.

the diesel version is just launched here in India.hardly a week.

I'm told 'Vette pics are in there, especially in the Bangalore import thread, but 368 pages!!.lol.I've asked for help in that site and guys who have posted 'Vette pics have promised to email me some. I'll post them here when i get them.

Next expected releases in the Indian car market is the new TATA Indigo sedan series and the new Chevrolet Cruze sedan. Fully built Cruze cars have been spotted testing all over India!. Chevy is also releasing the new Spark around the same time. Expect to see my crappy pics of these cars in September.

Wheels maketh the car. This i firmly believe.

TATA NANO delivery started.

The TATA hits the road with Mr. Ratan Tata himself handing over the keys of the NANO to first three customers at Mumbai.

Ashok Raghunath Vichare of Mumbai has become the first person to get the Tata Nano .

Vichare received his choice, the Tata Nano LX (Lunar Silver), at the hands of the Tata Group chairman Ratan N Tata at the company's dealership, Concorde Motors, on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Tata said, "I hope the Tata Nano will bring motoring pleasure to those who will be buying their first car as also those who currently own cars but want a modern, contemporary, emission-friendly city car."

Along with Vichare, two other customers -- Ashish Balakrishnan (Tata Nano LX -- Sunshine Yellow) and Kores India Ltd (Tata Nano LX -- Lunar Silver), also received their cars on Friday.

As planned, Tata Motors [ Get Quote ] has commenced deliveries of the Tata Nano this month to different towns and cities of the country. Despatches to dealerships have begun from the Pantnagar plant, where the car is being produced, in accordance with schedules informed to customers.
