Nice pics bazurgo aur jawanoo
I dont have anything to share in pictures but my father did bought 2 cars in his past but he still dont know how to drive
he is a self made person who studied on scholarship after class 10th. My dada was a mill worker in Faisalabad. My dada was not able to affor education of all his three sons so my taya, Abba jee and my chacha all worked and studied well keeping in view the limitations they had.
He and my Taya bought a Skoda in 1963 , my phupha bought it for him in Karachi, brand new, that funny rear engine creature
then people kept on telling him that its horrible, overheats and what not, so phupha sold it in karachi, abba jee never saw it himself
Then in 1977 he went to USA for doctorate on a scholarship, he managed to make some savings and bought a toyota starlet from there. When the car reached karachi port, he was damn short of cash, My nana and other relatives offered him to pay the duties and cahrges etc. but he refused to commit any loan. The car was sold as it was and buyer got it cleared himself
Then in 1994 after his foreign posting he managed to spare some money for the car, amount sanctioned was 275000 Rs. and i turned 18 that year and got my license made. After a good search of 4 months, we found a Nissan Sunny 1988 LX simple 56000 Kms driven in immaculate condition, NO AC, just a radio and decent accomodation in a car. In 1998 we got it converted to Diesel as CNG was not suitable for a 1.0 of this size. That car was sparingly used, and most of the running was intercity with family. Money problem again
I did all my travelling by public transport till 2001 when i got my first job in an NGO and then i myslef got the first CD 17 replaced. The one i put in is still going strong
My mamoo bought it from us when we got the new Spectra.
In 2003 abba jee got extension in his job assignment, he got happy and announced buying of a brand new car. He selected this spectra and handed it over to me as a gift for a successfull start of a career. So this is our automotive history. By the grace of GOD my parents are now seeing some easier times, i have seen their hardships myself and i know how respect and a decent living is to be earned in tis world. In simple words Aatay daal ka Bhao
My father still dont know how to drive
@Hanif Bhai
My mamoo still has a mazda as i posted in one of my threads. its 1971 1500
It was on its own engine with one engine overhaul in 1989 and then it was converted to diesel in 1994. Smoke and oil eating were a far cry even on LPW usage for 5 years.
Strange to hear that mazda engine going bad after 20000 miles.
