When parking should a manual car be left neutral or in a gear?

I cant remember exactly but there was a car which wont start with clutch pressed but it did when you dont press clutch.. it was either a santro or a mehran i cant recall

I have a santro and i always start with clutch pressed :).. Mehran ka i have experience and it starts with the clutch too
