Brand new parts for some of the JDMs are available in the market, especially those that are interchangeable among different models, or ones that are present in a large volume in the local market. These new parts are also not that expensive either. As an example, you can check suspension parts, cooling system parts, and some engine parts for Vitz, Aqua and Prius etc, mostly imported from Dubai, in brand new, box pack condition in a lot of shops here. However, you will definitely not find new hybrid system parts like inverters, hybrid batteries etc. Some body/cosmetic parts are also locally available in new condition, like side mirrors, fender shields, bumpers etc. Again, it depends on volume, as well as interchangeability. But in some cases, the locally available new parts are considered to be inferior to used Japanese parts, not without reason though, so people prefer scrapyards for getting the parts for that reason too.
