Canon and Nikon both are fine brands and neither has advantage over the other. I've checked prices of the DSLR camera in Pakistan on shop hive dot com, Canon 700D with 18-55mm kit lens is priced at PKR 83000. On the Nikon side D7000 is priced at PKR 107,000 with 18-105mm kit lens while D5200 is for PKR 72,000 with 18-55mm kit lens. May be you can get more lower prices in your place.
My advice would be Nikon D7000 and if you are favouring Canon then 700D. D5200 would be my last choice.
For common photographic needs I'd suggest the following 3 lenses to purchase.
1 - A Wide angle lens (18-55mm kits lens OR 17-50mm f/2.8 from Tamron). To get group and landscape shots in good light. Tamron lens has large aperture at f/2.8 so gives bit more room to work in low light. But its bit expensive. 700D is with new 18-55mm STM kit lens and reviews say that its a very good lens for its price.
2 - A prime Lens for low light/portrait work (35mm OR 50mm for general photography and 85mm for portrait work - head/shoulder shots of people). Nikon 35mm f/1.8 is low priced while Canon 35mm f/2 is more expensive. 50mm f/1.8 from both companies are dirt cheap. 85mm f/1.8 from both companies have higher prices and their f/1.4 ones are too much expensive.
3 - A zoom lens for close up shots (There are several options. Nikon makes 3 lens in this range 55-200mm, 55-300mm and 70-300mm while canon makes 55-200mm, 55-250mm and 70-300mm). Make sure that the zoom lens you get has the vibration control (VC) or image stabilization (IS) thing. Because at this range you will need it to get blur free shots. There are also cheap zoom lenses without VC or IS, but they are not worth it as you will end up getting blurry shots most of the time, unless you can be still like a stone and take the picture :). For zoom I'd suggest 70-300mm than other zoom options. That lens is much better in quality and the range it covers but its also more pricey. Tamron also makes excellent 70-300 zoom lens with image stabilization, I have that lens and its very good at much lower price.
Technically these 3 lenses are all that a photographer needs to cover 99% of his photography needs. I'm not in favour of using a single lens covering 18-200mm. Frankly if someone needs a single lens then better buy a compact with 14x or 16x zoom which is much better choice.
As you are favouring Canon, so I'd suggest 700D with kit lens. Take lots of pictures in different situations, light conditions, then you will find out whether you need zoom lens or not, or whether you need a prime lens to work in low light or not. This way you will buy what you need.
Also invest in a good carry bag for you camera and lens as they are not pocketable. Memory cards are another thing to invest. I'd suggest buy 2 cards of 8GB or 16GB each. The new DSLRs have the ability to shoot HD video so you will need a fast card to record the videos. Get atleast class 10 SD card. Avoid unbranded/slower SD cards used in mobile phone etc. because they will slow you down if you take a burst of pictures or shoot HD video.
For indoor photos you will need a flash as well. The built-in flash is nice but soon you will find that you need an external flash if you do heavy portrait work indoor.
As dust is common issue in our region, get some lens cleaning kit as well such as wet wipes to remove dust from the lens surface. You can buy a clear glass filter as well so that the lens surface is protected from dust/scratches.
Finally check kenrockwell dot com for lens/camera reviews. He talks straight and thats all I need to decide.
