I have purchased Hyundai Elegant 1.5 ton Inverter AC, without proper research by looking at the online adds that says ( Bigger Indoor/Outdoor).
Once i open the box i realized that the outdoor is as small as Enviro 1 ton AC. Hyundai 1.5 ton and Enviro 1 ton both has same size outdoor and both has similar weight as 32 KG.
Indoor is Little bigger than Gree Cozy and weight is 1 kg more that Gree cozy.
Its Air throw is more but cooling is very weak, i believe its because of the outdoor machine is very small.
Its cooling is little more than the Air Cooler which left me very disappointed.
To measure its cooling i ordered digital temperature meter from daraz and was very sad when temp meter said it all.
I compared it with my 4 years old Gree Cozy and there was hell lot of difference between cooling of both units.
Gree suction line temp went down to 5.5 C after running for 20 minutes on set temp of 20 and Hyundai went down to 15.2 C in same time and settings. Both rooms are exactly of same size.
Also want to mention here that at the time of installation they didn't vacuum lines.
And after one week of poor performance i called the Hyundai they came and checked the refrigerant and the pressure was 90 psi which suppose to be 150 psi for R410a.
This shows the lack of Quality Control that the unit was under charged at the time of manufacturing. They topped up the refrigerant but still the cooling is poor.
I bought Gree Fairy 1.5 ton after 2 months after proper research, it has the biggest outdoor available in Pakistan at the moment with weight of 45 Kg, its Huge and the performance is marvelous. Installed by vacuuming the lines.
Hyundai stands right at the bottom in terms of cooling out of all units i have. The company is not willing to do anything, i assume the poor cooling are due to 2 reasons,
- The small outdoor cannot cool more than that.
- I may flush the refrigerant and vacuum full system and recharge the refrigerant. Will this improve its cooling? Need professional advice and opinion on that.
My advice to Pakwheelers is to stay away from Hyundai AC as it is total waste of money.
