Current Honda fit comes in two body styles, hatchback and station wagon, I am considering the wagon version, which is called Shuttle.

it's actually the successor of Honda Airwave. it has a much larger cargo area, even more than Prius.

And for City, I thought Immobilizer is standard there, but I may be wrong. but I am not considering it anymore now anyway. I have found some fresh clear 2011 model 2nd gen (1.5l) Prius' for ~1.8M demand. I am going to check those out today.

Try to negotiate and get it for 1.7M.
Otherwise you can also get Axio, Allion, Airwave, Axio Fielder etc that Fit shuttle would be really hard to find plus it's parts would surely be a headache for you!

Oh and I forgot, Honda Insight would be the best buy after Prius. Check it out!

Honda insight is a very good option. Had the chance to drive it abroad..so i can recommend it

Yes, insight is also a good option, but one of the main reason for the upgrade is that I need more boot space, Insight has a very low tailgate, because of the fastback style and higher floor of the boot.

The sellers are asking ~1.7 to 1.75M, I want to bring it down to 1.6M, so after registration/transfer, it would cost me in the 1.7M range. So in that range, I can get a fresh import Fit, or 2006-2007 Prius (2-3 years local used).

You're mistaken about the Axio, there are 100s of them for sale in Karachi. Our neighbour recently bought one and it costed him 1.7M with registration in white colour and I think it is top of the line model but not sure. Situation might be different in Lahore.
If you can't get Prius then Insight is the best option! Believe me, you'll simply love it!

Are you sure it's a 2011+ model imported recently? I saw a few here but they were in the 2.5m range. There was a 2013 hybrid with asking price 3.3M

He didn't imported it himself, he bought it from a showroom, it was unregistered with original auction sheet.

1 was a Toyota Passo and the other was Nissan Ad Expert estate 1.5 Ltr 2008 model new shape
Both were really nice cars
Passo had dual airbags and many other good features
But our local cars esp Toyota and Honda aren't bad either !
You have a really good budget and you have many options and really nice ones if you check the market

Imported cars have good quality but still they can't be compared with the charm and feel and satisfaction you get when you just sit in a brand new car !

You can get brand new Honda City
Brand new New shape Xli corolla ( which lacks many features I agree but it's the best car in this budget without any doubt )
But after driving vitz you must be looking for automatic transmission so yes city prosmatec brand new is in your budget and a nice car

So, you're suggesting me that I should go for new Xli for the charm of a new car (as rest of the options you mentioned are also used). Xli does not have ABS, airbags, Immobilizer (and the list goes on). and corolla is the most hot favorite car of car lifters, and I don't plan to get it insured, so a car without Immobilizer would be a huge compromise. not that Immobilizer is a 100% theft proof, but from what I understand, it's a big security feature.

And if you have used a few JDM cars then you should know that there's a world of difference in features, comfort, reliability and overall quality when compared to PKDM cars. Please don't get me wrong, I am a Pakistani, and I love Pakistan, and wish from the deepest core of my heart that we make the best quality vehicles at reasonable price but sadly, imo, this is not the case, because of those of us who make decisions for this country and it's industry. (sorry, it's getting a bit political so I must stop)

okay, here's this thing. the body style that suites me the most is a station wagon (or estate car) like Fielder, Wingroad etc. If I go for Axio Fielder, the newest I can get from market would be 2008 model imported in early 2013, when the policy was to import upto 5 years old cars. And a specimen in good shape would cost 14-15 lac, so I thought why not I go for Fit Shuttle by adding 1-2 lac, at least it would be a fresh import. Hybrid-technology and fuel economy are not major deciding factors for me, they are just nice to have features.

And I have ditched the idea of getting a Prius, because the boot space in 2nd gen (1.5l) prius his hardly any bigger than a hatchback.

Bought it for 10
Gave me a loss of 3 lacs in just 1 year
So if you plan to keep these imported cars for atleast 3 years only then Go for them esp nissan

Bluebird is a really luxurious and much more spacious car
Seats are very very comfortable

If you can get unreg bluebird for even 15 lacs it would be a really nice option

fit is great choice i guess . buying hybrid car you must take a look on car mileage as i read some where hybrid battery work 120 to 150k mileage and after you have to replace bettries . fit has 1300cc engine after failure of hybrid batteries you may still get 15 km/l average . but not in Prius. best of luck

yes, wingroad is definitely a very good option and I am considering it for the at least two years. it has extremely comfortable seats, quiet cabin and great drive. I have found one in pretty decent condition, gun metallic color with e-4wd option, and the owner will let it go for ~9.5 lac. I am going to show it to my mechanic today, so let's see

yes, most hybrids are high mileage cars because hybrid cars are expensive to buy in Japan and most ppl who buy hybrid cars would drive them more, otherwise they will get a regular car for ~50% less price of hybrid.
