Just to add my two cents.
The first tyres i bought were SP 9000, but they were used and messed up tyres with bent rims. I was looking for a good deal, i got cheated.
So i opted for Bridgestone Turanza er60 tyres. They were very good tyres, quiet and very very grippy. I had them on a 2008 (old shape) corolla and they saved my life twice.
Then, I had Turanzas on my Swift from the factory but these were ar10, a newer version of the er60. These were unbelievably hard, or maybe the Swift's suspension was to blame.
I have been reading online like crazy about tyres, and it seems that for normal use, the Yoko DB is indeed an excellent tyre. Quiet and comfortable with decent grip.
However, it falls short for performance maniacs like you and me. My Turanza's may be hard, but i touch 180km/h regularly on the highway and there is no feeling of lost control.
I have had bad experience of the SP 9000s, and as they say, once bitten twice shy.
I'd like it if I could have a brief review of the tyre, especially if it will go well with the uber-hard suspension of the swift.
Mani, before getting the Dunlops, check out the Michelins. They are also one of the few names that i only read rave reviews about. Also check out some Continental tyres, they are lovely as well.
@khokhar sahab: sir, the traction is more of an issue with the corolla itself than the tyres. I have driven many with different brands of tyres, and throughout I have found the 1.3 variant especially slippery. Mine spins its tyres at very low rpms at a slight release of the clutch and i have to lift it up gently to avoid abba di juttiyaan
other corollas i've driven seem to suffer from the same. maybe its the heavy body or some other factor, I can't say for sure.
