Which wax do you use for shining?

For my GS150 i use formula 1 wax for the fuel tank, son of a gun plastic shiner and protector for side covers and Mr. steel for chrome parts.

wax basically enhances the looks of your vehicle, depending on the type of wax it protects against small scratches and also fills small scratches.

Imagine applying a vaseline to your arms of lips in cold winter? same is the case with bike's and cars. with waxing you add extra protective layer which acts as a protection against small scratches. Also protect paint from UV rays and etc

Let me clear something out here, although you are right on your part, but wax doesnt work that way.

There are two types of waxes, 1 Carnauba and 2 Synthetic

Pure carnaubas are made out of naturally occuring ingredients whilst synthetic are man made chemicals.

Waxes are basically to top off any paint correction you've done on the paint, What you're refering to is not kind of correct, a wax wont protect/prevent against scratches, it would just lock the shine and glaze which is achieved after paint correction so that you could retain it for a longer time.

There are cleaner/polishing waxes which might take care of swirls but not on an intensive scale.

So the bottom line is, nothing would prevent scratches, wax, polish, wash, clay bar. You have to prevent scratches yourself.

Waxes dont prevent scratches my friend, but you can mask minor swirls with high grade waxes such as the above mentioned Meguiar's.

^ As mentioned above by r1.... Turtule Wax is better for chrome parts like mudguards. You may re-wax after you wash the bike, even if it is after one week of the previous wax.
