Dear, I am also a muslim and have, Alhamdullilah, read the Quran with translation multiple times. If you read the Quran with understanding, you will notice that Earthquakes (or other disasters) are mentioned at multiple locations. So is the fact that Allah causes all things to happen....from earthquake to black holes to the entire universe or anything else on the nano-scale.
Nobody is debating that Allah causes everything to happen.
But if you understand the Quran, you'll also learn that there is a cause and effect...and that everything happens in "as systematic way". It is also called upon muslims (and people in general) to explore the world as Allah has mentioned that in it are " signs of your Lord, for men of understanding".
Therefore, things should be understood in the proper way. Of course, Allah created the tectonic plates, the movement of lava and land mass, the friction, the faults and even the entire earth. But earthquakes should be explained with their cause and not because of "our habits".
