Who is using PTCL's High Speed Broadband Packages?

ok so most chances are of getting FTTN/C
and what do think about getting 50mb or 100mb connection, will these be available on FTTN/C? and will ptcl ask rubish questions about why you are buying this package etc etc ?

30mbps, 50mbps will only be possible with VDSL2 on FTTN/C and if your area has a VDSL card installed in the cabinet then it will be possible, TBH like I've said before it varies a lot from area to area.. As for rubbish questions, who knows

Using 8 mb on copper line (though the dropper wire is special copper one)
Normally they give you the old skool copper plated steel dropper wire
Attainable rate goes upto 12 mbps
MA pretty much satisfied

getting new number is necessary for shifting to fiber? and aren't there loadshedding on fiber line, is it connected 24 hours a day?

Check With Your Exchange If They Can Transfer Or May Have Transfer Your Older No On Fiber Or Its Still On Old Copper.....If Its On Copper Then You Can Apply For New Fiber Backed No..

I Have To Do Same ....Apply For Fiber Backed No And Have To Shut Down Old No Bcz It Was On Copper And Dont Even Run 1Mb Connection Stable....!

Use CAT-5/6 Cable From Pole To Your Home ...Don't Use Ordinary Black Wire...

Load-shedding Depends On Area And Exchange....They Usually Have Backups But A LONG Power outage Will Shut It Down ...

torrents and other misc downloads

Using 12mb connection on VDSL2 in Lahore cantt. I get around 1.5mbps download and 350-400kbps upload. Monthly smart tv & smart tv app charges and on-net calls are included in the package. Will soon upgrade to 20mb. So far very satisfied.

I'm using 8mbps PTCL with fibber cable. I get maximum 500kbps download speed so planning for Nayatel now.

Sorry, no idea.
You should ask your exchange if they offer high speed broadband in your area (VDSL2/GPON etc.). If they do then you should go for your desired package. Since, the installation charges are same across all packages, you can always downgrade if you're not satisfied with your package's speed.

this may sound weird but i am using a high end 3g modem which gives download speed of 16 to 20 mbps.
yes telenor becomes unlimited for nexxt 24 hours when u spend 50 rupees without package.
on idm it showes near 2500KB/s
avrage download time of 1gb file is 10 mints
last but not least, the speed gets crap when i move to city i cant even browse internet with it in peshawar city.
i am living in village of KPK barely 5 people know what 3g is here

Definitely something shaddy about the 16mbps package on PTCL DSL.

I was using the 8mbps connection previously and would easily touch 0.9 to 1.0 MegaBytes (which correctly translated to 8megabits/second)

Recently upgraded to 16mbps and even when using the connection on a single machine, my maximum download seems to be throttled to 1.5 MegaBytes/second or 12mbps which doesn't look round.

The router of course shows about 16mbps connection rate but its probably throttled from the exchange or back-end.

Now I'm questioning if it was a good idea to pay the extra 2k PKR to get just 4mbps extra over my 8mbps which cost 3k PKR.

meh.

P.S. my line stats are perfect, the modem shows attainable rate of over 20mbps, I'm using an AC3200 router for distribution/wifi and use the ptcl modem just as a passthrough device. so its not my line / modem / router.
