The point is.. You did a good job. But because it was an orthodox step, most people will oppose you.
I have always insisted that any 4 stroke engine be it a car or motorcycle or even a generator, it should be Broken-in properly.
Now a Proper Break-in means: Run it on full load and push it to its maximum rpm (but by slowly throttling it up).
That is the only way to get the valves and piston rings smoothly set up against the cylinder linings.
Having said that, You should do your first oil change within 100km run. Metal slug should be purged out of this rapidly grinding metal box (a.k.a Engine Gear Box).
