I had the misfortune of driving one which had a total of 100 kms on it and also taking a few apart - they were horrendous. Nothing about them was good. Literally everywhere you looked, it seemed like they followed the mantra of "iss se kaam chaljaiga" - even a lot of wiring connectors were single spade jobs, the wiring colours were awful, as if they had giant rolls of yellow and black wires so they used them the most. (read as 95%) of any bundle was yellow and black and they would interchange colours down a run (probably because QC didnt exist at all)
The diff was a surprise - I have always used a very strong magnet fishing the lube oil to see the wear rate on a fresh build etc, there is a limit to the type of wear we see, usually its very very faint metallic lines (like you see on paint) and the pieces are incredibly small and smooth as the gearbox is "mating" together.
On these, I remember seeing welding slag, literal metal shrapnel from cutting of end tubes of the diff, - literally the magnets became like a hairy spiky and chunky ball of material. misaligned pinion seal etc and filled with what I can call SAE 280 gear oil. - literally thick as "raab" on a winters day. - on a vehicle with 100 kms on it.
