i think partly due to toyota's name which is very reliable and partly due to the type of land cruiser buyers having alot of money and if you have money in pakistan....you are the king.

i personly dont like the LCruiser becuz its slow, but other wise its a good car.

The cruiser is a great all rounder (thought expensive) it is also a HUGE staus symbol for brand concious pakistanis.

I ecal lwhen the HJ & HDJ80's were launched in PK people went MAD!

Personally i think the VX Limited is a waste of money and found the RWD VX perfect. The normal VX is much faster and has just the right amount of toys (dual AC & Fridge/freezer) without all the leather nonsense.

I love the old cruiser (80 series) since it was a slid off roader but the new ones (100s) with kits make me laugh every time i see them,... what's the point of having a 4x4 with a bodykit????

Toyota Land Cruiser is known as the king of the Desert cuz it has power and ment for tht and better than every God damn SUV in the World .........infact in Luxury nowadayz

Hummer Sux cuz only ment for name though it has a giant and killing shape !

Land Cruiser is one of the best selling car in UAE ....no Doubt its famous all around the world even though its not so expensive

Cuz its reliable. Its a bhurrum accessorry for 90% ppl. Build Quality is excellent. Value for money. Gr8 Offroader.

I still remember LC "Cruising" Fashion, Prada (Prado SX5) Fashion, Intercooler (Pajero) Fashion nd now this Grand Cruiser Fashion.

Land Cruiser is by far the most popular off roader in the world.
1) Toyota spends Millions of $$ every year on R&D (Research and Developement) and it shows in their sales figures which depends on the reliability.

2) Toyta parts are normally easily available and thats why they have lower prices too.

In Australian Rural region, people swear by the LC that it wont let you down.

in Pakistan though its more of a status symbol simply because of the price tag.

I was just trying to show how LC is struggling in US market.

Pros: good off-roader, amazing history and great Quality.
Cons: weak engine till 2005 model year, expensive, tight third row seat and eight year old platform.

There are many reasons for Land Cruiser to be popular in Pakistan.

-Unlike US version, in Pakistan they have a Diesel engine. And Diesel is cheaper in Pakistan. This means that SUVs running on gas (Petrol) are out.
-It is top of the line SUV made by Toyota. Toyota means quality and reliability.
-As someone said: Powerfull, Comfortable, Luxury, Good looking and good resale then any other 4x4.
-Many places dont have paved roads, so you do need an SUV for its off road capability.
-Very spaceious. Easily seats 8 or more.
-Toyota parts are normally easily available and thats why they have lower prices too.
-Status symbol.
