Well, i have a 2001 model uno, and i bought it brand new. It has 60K on the clock and its stil in mint condition. Its a great car to have but dont buy it if u hav a buget for a suzuki... if u dnt want people to write what they have written, u gota spend money.. mainly on the maintaince only. It doesnt mean that it requires more, its just that, its a machine and every machine needs to be looked after.Just as much as any japnese diesel would require. Most people in pakistan have seen japenese cars only so thats all they know.
As far as performance is concerned, its an athelete!! it hits 160 pretty quick and thats the top speed! it never ever over heats no matter how many people u carry or whatever the temperature is..power actually is as good as a tractor, excellent on steep mountains.it has tons of torque due to a big motor and a short ratio gearbox.Engine sound is smooth if its well maintained and very low in the cabin.
It will smoke 2.0D any time and big time in a drag race!!cuz i've done it many times.
Parts are a no big deal if u have the enthusism, u get them from fiat center on montgomery road, lhr and from bilal motors in pindi, they generally have every thing!!but they are not as cheap as a suzuki and not as expensive as a corolla. Its a european car at heart so comfort is not an issue.. its not a bloody KHOTA corolla!!so u go for it!! and if u have any problems contact me!!dont lisent to inexperienced people!the only thing i've done is changed the timing belt which is supposed to be changed on 40,000 kms and people dont change them and screw their engines over.. and changed c/v boots (outer) and normal filters n all.. u must use top quality engine oil, dont use shell and all. I recommend liqui moly or zic or mobil (mobil is hard to find). Wish you all the luck with your FIAT!!
