No one expects killer accelerating and mind numbing top speed from a tiny little 125cc, no one except us! The rest of the world is concerned more about ride quality, comfort, look, features and fuel mileage when they consider a 125cc bike! In a bike that small, these characteristics trumps performance by a big margin!
I don't know how people here are claiming to have achieved topspeeds ranging from 110km/h to as much as 140km/h on their 125's (regardless of the brand & model). A word of advise for them: Kindly calculate your bike's top speed with the GPS as most Speedos on our bikes are cheap & hence 'optimistic'. In other words: Highly Inaccurate...! The fastest 125cc 4-Stroke, Yamaha R125 tops at 70MPH = 112km/h!
As to why so many YBR's in used market, look up Honda CG125 and you'll see just as many bikes on sale! More bikes = More crowded used market, simple as that! Here in Lahore, now I'm starting to see YBR's on a 'regular' basis. I can't say that about GSs or ill-fated Storms which have been around for decades...! They're selling REALLY strong!
Besides, motorcycling isn't about raw top speed... It's about 0-60's and Quarter Miles!
