Interesting debate here. I want to say that you shouldn't worry too much about rupee devaluation.
Just don't keep too much of this this kachra currency in the bank. My advice is to keep at most 6 months expense in rupees and the rest in dollar and gold. Invest in real estate in good locations if you have a lot of savings. The appreciation in these assets is dead certain that will more than cover inflation and currency devaluation in the long term.
Secondly don't rely on luck too much. And don't think you are entitled to everything. Adjust your strategy based on the situation.
I agree with most of you that sole reliance on luck is the main reason for the misery of people in Pakistan. Most are hell bent on maarrying and reproducing like rabbits thinking money will rain from heavens. That is not the case in this world.
I am a muslim and I believe that we can't get far in life without the help from Allah that I call luck. But relying on luck alone without making an effort is utter stupidity.
Work hard to get rich and enjoy all the beauty and pleasure in life that comes with it. But if you have low income, don't marry. If you aren't rich to provide a good living, don't have too many kids. Don't rely too much on external factors like government or luck. Use the most important gift Allah has given to you - your brain. And you will find that external events won't matter to you much.
I have been living a paradiscical life mashallah here in Karachi simply because I use my brain not the heart.
All problems can end only if we just use our brains. History shows resiliance and being flexible is the key to success. I don't see much difference between life in a rich and poor country. If you are not smart about your life or finances, you are doomed to fail in life irrespective of external events.
