Those already registered with FBR can't apply as a freelancer because an NTN exists. They asked to register as Sole proprietor which has a registration fee of about 10-20k.

Yup, It does. And this is exactly what is silly at PSEBs end that their database should be supposed to pick it and sync but instead they are asking to create a separate type of account.

Yup, I think so. If you have an NTN number already against your CNIC then you can't as a freelancer.

Might be, I was going to apply, just needed bank account letter/certificate, but then I got COVID. So will visit bank after I recover and then apply. I had an earlier business which was also registered with PSEB, then closed the registration with Registrar of Firms and disconnected it from my CNIC in FBR portal.

I don't think so. PSEB requires you to already have NTN for registration, but it shouldn't be connected to a business.
These are the main documents they ask you to upload:
1. Bank Account Letter/Certificate
2. NTN Document without business name
3. CNIC Front & Back

Rupee in my opinion will never stabilize. Ppl were saying when it was at 180s that rupee it will stabilize at 200. Look where it is now. As long as dollar remains tied to oil or our economy and transport remains tied to petrol, the rupees value will keep on decreasing.

A booster shot will be injected by IMF soon and it will remain active for 4 months before seeing worse downfall.

But in case of global recession and worldwide economic crunch(which is also due by end of 2022) the rupee will keep some strength as import bills will be lower due to price drop in international markets.
