if you soooooooo finicky - treat your glass with rain-x I bought a bottle from a car acessory shop - and applied it to the windshield, it beads the water off the windshield - and you dont have to use wipers that much.
For blades - you can buy inserts easily - but if you or someone else have tampered with the metal spine of the blade - it will be useless, usually I see the hawkers bend the spine out of shape or twist the wiper arm for some reason, The best wipe action comes from the blade pressed down square from the centre and the blade should not be floppy on the arm - the wiper will chatter on the screen if its floppy - you can insert very thin plastic spacers on the sides of the clips of the blade piece to prevent chattering.
I buy genuine heavy metal wiper blades from the shersha junkyard and only replace the rubber pieces if necessary, work like a charm
