Installed the rebuilt front calipers on the FJ as part of routine maintenance. Replaced one brake line section as a safety precaution.
Changed over to 18 inch snow wheels and tires on the M3, and then put on a fresh set of tires on the 19 inch wheels for spring:

The original alternator finally gave up at about 117,500 miles (about 190,000 km) on the 2007 FJ Cruiser. I replaced it with a Denso unit.
Pretty young for a toyota alternator.
Do mention the special pain in the rear last bolt of it.
Yeah, I was a bit surprised by this. Why do you think there are no photos of the replacement?
(After a few years up here, salt corrosion can make just about any DIY task great "fun"!)
Lol
Yeah, thats an interesting bolt. At least 2 cups of qahwa worth. Lol!!
Magnetic socket helps, but toyotas rust like mad anyway and specially in the rust belt. I heavily rely on my sparkle wrench on rust belt cars.
Sometimes I admire the oily mess of american engines, cant rust if its caked in oil.
Sir an off topic question. Apologies.Have you used any weld-thru primer? Does any primer with zinc enriched will work? For sheets that cannot be painted after welding.
I prefer this:
https://www.eastwood.com/ew-self-etching-weld-thru-primer-16-1-oz-aero.html
This is zinc and copper free and works very well. Those with zinc may work, but read the product description to ensure it will not burn off while welding. The primer must leave a self etching corrosion resistant coating that can be painted over.
Thanks. And sir these self etching primers will work for Tig as well?
Yes. The one that I linked above is "compatible with MIG, TIG and Arc welding".
Got it. Thanks again sir.
Replaced one of the bulbs in the tailgate of the LX470, and ordered parts for the 100k service coming up.
Some parts have come in already:
did you find any in pakistan?
I found CRC 95% zinc spray. But not a weld thru. Will try it soon.
Completed the 125K service on the FJ over the weekend.
