I recommended a Charade or a Startlet with reference to your observation of a member's Jeep in this thread that that his Jeep might have got damaged and has hence lost its value because it has been used for leisure in grass and naalas. If anyone feels this is an abuse to a Jeep, he'll get a heart attack when he goes for a Desert Safari in Dubai :D. What they do to their SUVs there, it's complete madness, but actually that's what Jeeps are made for, and they don't get damaged at all. So you might wanna consider what you'll do to your jeep yourself and then buy a vehicle appropriate to your plans.
If you look around in the market and even on this website, you would notice that any Jeep in working condition would cost you above 275k. 225k, that too, negotiable, is extremely cheap for a Mutt in working condition.
if you want to restore a Jeep from Scratch, the best option (in my humble view) would be an SJ 410. It's petrol, all parts are cheap, mechanics are aplenty, and restoration cost is lower than that of a Jeep. It's equally good on and off the road. Since it's hard top, you are protected from the sun, rain, dust, smoke, smell, etc., and can even get an AC/Heater installed. And since the Driving postion is higher than the rest of the traffic, you get the pleasure of driving an SUV also. But like I said, it totally depends on what you want to do with your Jeep and get one accordingly. Having said that, we have 2 Mutts in the family and we are extremely happy with them.
Good luck.
