well that depends for commercial vehicles duplicate book is no issue at all. for domestic vehicle if the book is duplicate but on owner name then may be 20-25k at max for smaller car and 40-50k for bigger ones. if it is duplicate book and on open letter then stay away from it or pay the owner after it has been cleared from police and transfered on ur name. chao

If the car is good condition and any1 wants to keep it for a long time then there is no harm to keep car with duplicate documents.
