But that's not the major issue. The major issue is that when you try selling it, not many people are ready to buy it from you even at a fairly lower price.

well that depends for commercial vehicles duplicate book is no issue at all. for domestic vehicle if the book is duplicate but on owner name then may be 20-25k at max for smaller car and 40-50k for bigger ones. if it is duplicate book and on open letter then stay away from it or pay the owner after it has been cleared from police and transfered on ur name. chao
