Bro I would recommend 1st gen as 2nd generation I have seen with my friend who is a big geek of tablets he also owned 1st gen and now having second but he also says that there is little improvement in screen but the shape and touch has become worse and I also own 1st gen when I saw the 2nd gen and used it I was also having sorrow feeling for my friend and google both
its shape gives it a very very pathetic look and it's camera is of no use

2nd feels as some body held 1st gen and pulled it from top and bottom giving it an abnormally stretched look and one can save many thousand buying 1st gen at this time

But i made this thread after spending more than 5 hours on internet searching, watching reviews, user comments etc

And for my usage i think 2nd gen will be much better
true that,if i go for 1st gen I'll save around 7-8k
but the performance i am looking for should be close to high end android phones
cuz my last device was Galaxy S4

So i am looking for
High quality and sharp display
No lags
good performance in games
good battery life with wifi

So i think for my needs 2nd gen is much better

Also about the shape of 2nd gen
I think it is much better than 1st gen
I like it more than the 1st Gen

By the way if your friend decide to sale his 2nd gen(since he is not satisfied) then do let me know

My friend is geek he has 1st gen x 1 and 2nd gen x 2 I.e one for his wife
You r saying u spent 5hrs on internet i spent much more than that and i have used both of them myself presently jellybean 4.3 installed and rooted with many games and apps installed and there r no lags whatsoever
Anyhow u should go forward with ur wish but u should keep both gen in front of u and then decide the performance margin is very small and with kitkat4.4 it will further reduce as its very light software
But let me say this that 2nd gen is really ugly and gives an abnormal stretched look from top and bottom and squeezed look from sides mainly due to bezel

I am mentioning them because I have found them after a long time searching for the cheapest price all over Pakistan and since I have bought my nexus 7 from them 3-4 people have visited them on my recommendation and bought products in cheapest price instead of getting ripped off from homeshopping etc and there r people here and on pg selling used products in more then new prices so I want to shut their mouth and stop them from ripping people for instance a person selling nexus 4 used in 35000 whereAs Bawany selling new in 33.5k on their website and if u visit them they might further reduce 1k or so
me and my friends have bought 2 x nexus 7 1st , 2 x nexus 7 second gen and 1 x Xperia z from them and saved around 2-3k per product from what others are offering AND NOT ONLY ME I SAW HASOOBOY ALSO MENTIONING THEM SOMEWHERE

Its my habit before buying anything I do a lot of research to find cheapest place in pakistan and once I find it I tell it to everyone
