i know city has more horse power but what about pick in second gear many ppl have been complaining about lack of pick in second gear does gli have any better pick?

a DOHC layout is better than a SOHC layout in many ways- in DOHCs, the valve timing is more precise, and better valve lift is achieved. also, a DOHC setup eliminates the need for rocker arms, hence creating better timing, and valve contact is more direct too.

@sars: bro i dun think that it laggs in second gear....performance wise city is much better than Gli....check its video on page 25(last post)....it goes from 0-100 in 11secs whereas Gli does it in 14secs

BHP is not da only thing to campare, alot ov things also take place..1.3GLI caontain more weight than city. shape of GLI kick off city.overall gud car except shape:-{).say honda to run 1.3 car which contain weight equal to gli.

ok guys things are simple... everyone has his own thinking abt something...
according to me GLi(not XLi read properly) is much better than city. in features alot of features are missing in city. arm rest, cover under engine, high mounted stop lamp, integrated side indicators, milage details... and remind u that Xli doesnt has abs and matching color... corolla is more impressive in exterior than city.
and in the end ---- i have not driven city but driven XLi and if someone complains abt brakes he shud get lessons on driving... New XLi has awesome drive and brakes...
yes older version had braking issues... i had driven SE SALOON and found braking very bad.... and in new XLi I purposely tried brakes and control and i found it nice...
yes city will be more powerful... but XLi didnt feel under powered at all...
I currently have corolla 98 known for brakes and handling but i dont like tis drive much... I liked New XLi though and also in terms of power...

 As for technology.... Airbags first started to come in 1.6GLi.... high mounted stop lamp in Saloons since march 2002. and now trip tronic and cruise control.... 

 As car gets older the analog gauge for temp is much better in that case as cars get hot alot... 

interior of corolla is good... but ya city's meters are much brighter and looks better...

I agree Honda is awesome but plz to prove this u dont need to degrade another good company and competitor!

and ya u ppl make fun of suzuki... gimme any new car in the price tag of mehran... and then the spare costs etc... for a common man to get to places its good...
i have got a mehran and believe me 45000kms and only sulf is replaced and nothing else.... even battery is stock.... want to c the condition then tell me i can show u the car... and i drive rough...

used 06 vitz costs 850000/- let alone parts etc... and pathetic pick wise!

agreed that Gli is better shape wise & interior wise......Xterior wise i like City more(my opinnion)......City also have mileage details(correction)......now comin to Engine.....City is better both performance & fuel mileage wise......i never said that Gli is underpowered but City is faster.......I agree with rest of ur points regardin City & GLI/Xli
