Indian Scenario
Has owned RX100(india) for a long time.It rocks.this bike simply goes on even in worse conditions!.My bike looked exactly as the one below.RX100s production(for India) stopped in 1995.RX135/RXZ(135cc) were available till 2001-2002 beginning.but due to pollution issues ,they were banned.RX100 from 1984-88 produced 14BHP in a 125cc Engine(while badged as rx100).from later on ,it was a 98cc engine made in India(henceafter) with 11bhp out which tops out at 104-105kmph.RX135s with catcons(catalytic converters) were flop.As is the case with Yamaha RXG/Tiger.
RXZ shortlived(with full body cowl).both RX135/RXZ were launched first with 4 gears ,later got 5 gears.after market engine kits for racing was and is still available in India.
While (kawsaki Bajaj)KB100/125RTZ(similar to kawasaki GTO125) was also famous in 1985s to 1992-93 era.but it flopped and Yamaha emerged as the winner.it can be seen that when almost all 2 stroke bikes stopped production in 1992-93era ,Yamaha 2 strokers lived till 2002.
While the India distribution of this RX-series bikes stopped ,Rajdoot/Escorts Yamaha JV still produced and exported RX bikes in 115cc/135cc to Nepal and south east asian countries(thailand, indonesia etc) from their faridabad(india) factory(don't know whether they still exports it to Nepal and SEA countries.RXseries Bikes were named Lion,king,cub,RX-Z etc etc in other countries
