Yaris is seriously small for a family of 3 kids and couple. where as the Corolla is spacious and have ample space for the same family.

Thanks for you nice and well-detailed reply. Further, I would like to tell you that I have had 5 cars in life since 2011. FIRST: Suzuki Cultus 2006 Manual was a horrible and money wasting experience. SECOND: Toyota GLI 1.3 Manual 2010 was good in all terms but it was under-power especially with load on hilly areas, road ascents and speedy situations. THIRD: Toyota Vitz (changed 1.0 to 1.3) Automatic 2005 was the best but its engine broke down. FOURTH: Toyota XLI 1.3 2013 Manual was good but again its engine needed replacement. FIFTH: I now have Toyota Vitz 2005 RS original 1.3. It is incredibly the best except its suspension, which is the only painful thing. I did everything from shock absorbers, springs to rims and tyres etc, but all in vain. I finally understood that a hatchback car has limited suspension while a sedan car has always much more comfortable suspension. Hope you enjoyed my life's real car story. Thanks for your time.

U can't compare apple with oranges so never compare corolla with yaris just like u can't compare corolla with camry

I just elaborated the pos and cons... both are good cars... at the end of the day, you get what you pay for, obviously, when you pay 1.1 million extra for grande it is bigger and has better specification Yaris.. no argument on this..

Everyone has his own requirements, if its the only car in your garage and you need to pack a big family corolla is better. If you don't need a bigger cabin and want a good car, Yaris is not bad...

As i said time and again, there is no one shoe fit all story, gauge your requirements and buy whats best for you... not everyone needs bi-xenon head lamps and certain other bells and whistles...

Sir please enjoy your life and sell your eleven year old Altis for 42 lacks, people only laugh at such adds and pass... at the most share them on some social media and drop some silly remarks... no one buys a eleven year old altis for more than 20 to 22 lackhs that is about half the price of a new corolla grande or a million less than new yaris 1.5....

As for being ahead, please check car sales numbers after june 2020, Yaris sold twice as much as Corolla... when spending 4.2 million, now people have more options... Corolla is not as much a hot cake now... you are still 11 years behind time, kindly update your self, back in 2008 there were only two or three sedans around, now times have changed....

A 4 year old grande in same price of yaris will still be way better then your yasir.

Yaris selling more because Indus want it to sell to make it brand and they have slowed production of Corolla to keep minimum delivery time for Yaris fyi you can't buy brand new Corolla in less than 6 month time.

Only comparison is 4 tyres and 2 headlights. Different segments cannot be compared. Even today a 2012 sr easily sells for 24-26 lacs. There is a reason for that. Yaris is a sub compact sedan and is a good family car thats all.

Just like city cant compete with civic, yaris should not be compared with altis, even 1.6. If sales is the deciding factor, then hats off to your logic. Cheaper cars always sell more, that why price brackets set steps of luxury and better experience.

A very well articulated and honest reply. I am also in the dichotomy of buying a used grande (2016) VS new yaris 1.5. So for now it seems yaris is winning.

I think its the other way around.

I can see yaris thread full of old Corolla owners defending there useless bulky car. Telling others that corolla is better because its big? What is better in it... both accommodate 5th person with similar discomfort. Both have similar boot, ironically Yaris has bigger boot space...

You can live in a fools paradise, corolla was once a good deal, Yaris had ruined its sales, there is no justification to pay extra for Corolla now... If you are spending above 4 million, Civic is way superior not to mention MG Suv alongside other SUV falling between 4 to 5 million bracket.

As for me buying Yaris, i also own a corolla and between the two i think Yaris is better value for money... there is hardly any difference of practical seating space with yaris costing a million less... similarly I do get all the basics right with Yaris....

SR selling for 2.2 to 2.4 million is no big deal as its even lesser than what a new Cultus costs... i think its too much a depreciation
