YD-125 V/S Yamaha R1. Expert advice Required

This is not a small issue for bike enthusiasts, if you launch great bike with up to date features at resonable price then you will find multiple threads of appriciation as well, if not then get ready for all sort of criticism !

This is the only reason I made this thread........I have no agenda against DYL......infact I once convinced my friend to buy a Dhoom when he said no to Honda or Unique.

@aximmaxim Looking elsewhere is not what i usually do..I came to PW for a reason,because of my shear love for 2 wheels..And i dont own a YD but specifically improving the standard of this section is need of the hour..You will find nosy bickering in this section more often than serious discussion..Compare it with the other dedicated sections.You'll know the difference.The sarcasm is just overwhelming..You could have posted a comparison,,also your personal pick,pro's and con's and stuff..It is not that i am an alien to social forums.. Bu being an international forum with sizeable viewerbase this section demands Professionalism..As i said earlier no personal hard feelings toward you.Its just a matter of principle.

My name is Imbecile Unlimited. I inherited some money and wanted to treat myself with a nice riding machine. I searched and searched over the internet and narrowed my options to 2 bikes,
1. DYL YD-125 Sports
2. Yamaha R1
It?s a tough decision to make as both bikes are sports and both are shining and pretty. I need expert advice to make a decision which one should I buy.
Please help me!

I'm not DYL.......I can withstand criticism no matter how hard it may be......I wont run! Its not news that you too are a bike enthusiast......who isn't on this forum, we all are, and that's what keep us on this forum. Khair, there is no point in bickering about an issue which isn't actually an issue. As its a matter of your principles, so its mine.......you explained yours.......and I explained mine in my last reply....... I wont try to convince you to come to my side and I expect the same from you. We both have different opinions about how a thread should operate...... Now that I have your valuable feedback I have decided what to do with the money. As I'm "waderay ka beta" I thought why compromise......why cant I have both......So I bought both of them dabba pack. Ordered the Yamaha R1 fro their Hub Chowki factory and YD125 was directly imported from Japan. Then I called in my engineering team and asked them to use the best parts of each bike and develop one dream bike and this is what they came up with.


Please rate the bike.....

how much was the R1 and what is the import process?

Factory price is $1,400 (Japan specs). Duty on 998cc is $499, after add freight charges and other expense and the total landed cost of an R1 in Karachi is a little shy of 1.9 million rupees. 19 lakh rupay.

You can waive off custom duty if you can avail gift scheme but thats if you have an inlet in customs.
