I am getting AE51's as an option for my Vitz 2018 too. Upsizing a bit to increase clearance 165/70 14 > 185/70 14.
Looking forward to the review and experience. Internet reviews are great but local reviews always help.
12.5K a piece a good price for 185/70 14's?

GT AE51 doesn't appear on Sheikh Bros price list. I have to visit the tire shop to see if they are official imports or not.
Price seems ok? It's pretty close to ES32 in same size.

Apparently AE51 doesn't come in 14" in 185. What I got was AE50 which is an older tread pattern and possibly older compound.
@Thinking sir you said you had good reviews of AE50, do you think it is ok for Vitz.
I've got it on trial for now, it drives well for the short run I've had and this size doesn't scrap with 4 people on 185/70 14.
Or should I go for Dunlop SP 490 or Touring T1, which are the other worthwhile options in this size for now.

brother AE50 or AE51 both are one of the best available in local market. u can continue using them without any issue.

Identification
H-rated tires are rated for a maximum speed of 130 mph. The V rating is the next rating faster, and V-rated tires are good to 149 mph. Both H- and V-rated tires are considered to be performance-touring tires.

Considerations
To support running at higher speeds, V-rated tires will have a stiffer sidewall and slightly firmer ride than H-rated tires. For normal driving conditions the H-rated tire will provide a more comfortable ride and the V-rated should give slightly better handling.
The last line is true based on my personal experience in 10 gen corolla where I shifted from 195 65 15 advan dbs to 195 65 15 cc6s

the differences u shared between v and H are spot on. just would like to add in winters H will perform a lil better in both wet and dry surfaces as opposed to V. where as V rated ones will lead in summer owing to compound composition used to cater 240km/h limits. V rated ones handling and cornering remains a lil better than H in both seasons(comfort and noise factors is a different story where H leads in both seasons) some ppl complain the same with CC6 in winters but most ppl dont really feel the difference or dont drive that way to know. but than again the differences arent much.
just to note, these differences hold weight when its the same brand & pattern & profile but with only speed rating change. even if load rating changes, it will impact this.
but to be honest, with new compound tech, tread patterns, silica bonding techs and all, H and V differences are shrinking to just stiffer walls and its gains....

I would advise to stick to H rated for GLI . It is more than enough.

Dear i have recently changed tyres to es32 just 1300 km on them . I changed from euro on gli 18 it is an upgrade in terms of comfort ,grip and sound. Gt will definitely give more grip . Only question is are u willing to spend 6 to 7k extra then plx go ahead but once you touch this bracket of gt then other better options are nearby with slight increment of budget . Es32 looks good on car .have travelled north a trip of around 1200km it was good comfortable and less noisy .pebbles getting stuck in grooves is a genuine issue but u cant do much about it. U get what u pay for.

Gts are also h rated . Get whichever has latest Manufacturing date if budget is not issue .else es32 is a very logical and value for money which u yourself have found out. If u need a push i will push you to es32 and extra 7k ka aik dinner kar lain

did u visit the whole market? coz yokohama Blue Earth GT AE51 is at max Rs 200 to Rs500 higher in price at 90% of the locations, i visited in Lahore. but yes yoko BE GT AE51 isnt available on all shops but ES32 is. ES32 is no doubt a good tyre but a lil behind in wet and dry grip, handling and fuel eco compared to GT AE51, rest comfort, noise and wear is the same. 500 extra for the 3 ribs structure and better compound is actually a bargain (195/65 R15 profile) as three ribs are available in ES32 at 225 profile and onwards.
between the reason y GT AE51 in Pakistan is on relatively lower price is coz of no hype. CC6 s and ES32 are too hyped up in the market. the day hype builds up yes the price delta will go close to 2k. just look at advan DBs V552 hype impact (between a good tyre) but almost close to Michelin XM2+ in price.

I bought from sahiwal.had already decided about es32 .gt was available at 53k and es32 at 48/47k.(nankang a chinese tyre but korean company was also available it was looking good and soft price was reasonable.talking of nangkang as my brother i stalled them in vitz and they were outstanding did 70k with still sufficient groove and shock absortion capacity).But had to scum to social pressure of japani japni hta hy :(. U may be right, in bigger markets difference btwn es32 and gt might be less. Then there is no point in buying es32 go for gt ,2k is no difference in 4 tyres.
