Yokohama bluearth es32 vs continental cc6

Have not driven with continental tyres but a friend of mine got cc6 on his honda city (was running db before) and ride quality has improved much. Within city, he used to drive under inflated on Yokohama's due to bouncy harsh ride.

no doubt Advan db is superior to cc6. no second thought but it is very soft. low treadware rating making it more prone to punctures esp after crossing 30k mark. cc6 is a good balance of comfort and tread softness is not that much like DB. My car remains parked most of the time as I use it for long travel only. Advan DBs had a lot of tread when i replaced it but there were minute craks in the channel between tread depth. the tire dealer said it is due to the car remain parked mostly n this tire is very soft.

I understand, the harshness isn't DB but Honda City's characteristic, what I meant was CC6 experience went better than yokohama DB in that situation. The shopkeeper also offered to replace the tyres within 3-4 days if experience is bad so I guess this strategy is disseminated by Continental distributor in Pakistan / Punjab.

Need advice / suggestions on Bridgestone EP300 for Toyota grande (price by dealer who suggested these is 18k per 17" 225 width tyre)

changed to 17" Advan DB at 35k mileage (had blu earth before),

Experience with DB hasn't been right this time

1 tyre got driven on puncture so side wall damaged, another had developed huge bubble in side wall while travelling, had to get it fixed with heat puncture type solution because it happened in middle of a journey so can't claim warranty. All this happened in about 10k mileage. Another tyre got puncture itself while parked so seems like 2018-2019 batches are flawed.

Now thinking about changing all four but skeptical about Advan DBs so need suggestions.

Not that I'm here to bash Yokohama infact I'm a fan, specially A drive tyres I had on my khyber from 2005 that lasted 13 years and the new dunlop tyres I got later had less grip despite being brand new.

Also, Advan DB bought from same dealer worked perfectly on an 2014 gli, a civic 9th gen (both on 17") so only the 2018-2019 DB seem to have some complain.

Advan DB v552 in 205-55-R16 is not available in market, should i wait for availability or go for something else ?

Recently installed bluearth es32, couldn't find cc6 in my profile and advan db would arrive in two month time. Es32 had the best reviews among my options so went with them. They are a million times better then the rock hard Dunlop sp sport 200e which i had before. Why don't tyre shops carry 195/60/R15 anymore ? I had to settle for 185/65/R15, car looks a bit silly now with the slightly narrower tyres but it's much smoother in acceleration now.

bro i think the issues u faced are more to do with the lower profile on a 17 inch and advan db being a soft tyre doesn't give much room with smaller side wall.

if u r going for 17 inch rims so first thing u should be willing to let go is a bit of comfort as compared to 15 or 16 inch tyres (since side wall will be smaller).

i have bridgestone nextry on one of my rides and its a very very good tyre.

i believe bridgestones are actually even superior to yokohama or any other tyre brand in the world.

however if going for 17 rims u can look for bridgestone t005A or Michelin primacy 4 or continental maxx contact.

my personal choice would be made in japan 2019-2020 tyres--> may it be any brand, bridgestone, yokohama, toyo or Dunlop.

just b willing to experience a better handling and road grip at the expense of comfort (which is still very bearable with corolla suspension).

1. The friend's city I mentioned is on 15" rims, the tyres look exact like the pic of CC6 on aspire rim above (You can notice the fat profile) except the rims are after market.

2. I mentioned that I had great experience with Advan DB in past on GLI & Civic 9th gen both on 17" rims. So I guess I know my way around up sized rim's and tyres, also with bluearth on grande, a single tyre was replaced with advan DB which also worked good.

3. But recently, the experience hasn't been so great that's why avoiding Yokohama Advan DB for a year or two, who would spend 60-70k on same brand tyres again when they are damaged with normal driving in less than 10000 kilometer .(sidewall damage so it is not safe at all + tyres cannot be balanced even after sanding off and punctures more than often).

4. Can any one share their view on ecopia EP300, or anyone used EP201 in past as I have heard EP300 are improvement over that.

I have es 32 on civic reborn. 0 punctures in 8k kms so far over the last 6 months. They were very comfortable and noiseless in the beginning. Now they feel hard, not sure if it's due to usage/age or the cold weather. But they still are noiseless. Let's see if they get back to their very comfortable self as weather changes over next couple of months.

Updating my experience. Tyres are now back to very comfortable so it was the very cold temperature that we have had this winter season that effected the comfort a little bit. They have done 10k kms so far and still no punctures. This includes a 10 day trip to hunza and khunjrab.

Before these I had CC5, they were comfortable too but were noisy. Es32 is very quite and at least twice as much comfortable compared to CC5.

Highly recommended for city and civic.

Yes sir i live in khi and installed these ve 303 in my premio last ramadan till have used them around 40 thousand kilometres mostly on Balochistan routes and these are still good for next 10 thousand kilometres

So I finally got blueearth ae01 week ago, because es32 was not available at the moment in size I needed
Loving it, suspension, dry wet Traction, braking, noise comfort and in every dept it's better
Before that I had general ..

Rahat bhai, old topic but how did your experience end up with the Goodyears. The Eff Grip Perf 2 is now out and is being compared to Primacy 4 in various reviews. Don't know why they don't run Yokohama's in those European tests the Goodyears are doing well.Primacy 4 is of course expensive, but it has a longer usable life. I don't know if both Primacy 4 and Eff Grip P 2 are available in our market or not, but I was interested because of the test performance.
Of course there is Advan dB 552 which is expensive and availability is a question. They also have shorter lives and I have experience with the previous 551's, which were also a bit fragile besides having short lives.
The Veuro also sounds good but fared lower in the tests compared to Eff Grip P 2.
The car in question is a Corolla 1.8 FL. Currently has Advan dB Decibel ES E70 on, which doesn't seem to impress. Breaking performance and comfort aren't good.

Yar short answer is that EffGrip is not my type of tire. The contact patch is very hard. They've compensated that by very soft tirewall which I don't like. Initially when I would clean the car I would surprised by the car jiggling, the wall is so soft. You can feel the jiggly wall and hard contact patch while driving too. Even in Karachi winters I can feel that they're harder than during summer.

Positives - they're reasonably silent, traction is good, braking performance is IMMENSE, sidewall looks beautiful, tread pattern and overall look of the tire is beautiful and muscular and they're holding up very well after 2 yrs. By comparison, I have Veuro VE303 in Turbo and love those.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will check if the Veuro 303 is available. I also have Conti MC5 / UC6 in mind but don't know what the comparison would be like, and how the price would be in comparison also.

Sadly there isn't much feedback available on Veuro here, despite being a Dunlop. And in my year long use of this tire, I'm yet to find a reason why it's not more popular. As an extensive Advan dB user, I had to move because of the lack of availability and high price when V552 was introduced, helped by the fact that I'd had a bit of experience if VE302 which was good. And so far I'm really happy with the noiselessness, softness, decent grip and traction (in Civic Turbo) and treadwear. As for punctures, I don't want to jinx myself so you'll get the point.

Also, it's right up there with UC6, though I don't have experience of MC5 and have heard very good reviews regarding their performance so I won't compare with MC5.

If you can find Yokohama db 552, the go for this tire hands down. It is best tire in terms of road noise and grip. It won't last as much as other tires but the driving pleasure will be phenomenal.

But, if you can't find this then go for Continental CC6 which is comparatively Softer tire and will give give you better grip.

Yoko es32 is a hard tire. It will last longer than CC6 but you will hear more cabin noise and feel less attached to road.
