Lesson two : Bikes must Opt trackker Tyre... or go tubeless

noticing there was absolutly no problem with MMA's ride so far ? which tyre he was using.... either there was a difference of a tyre or the riding style he opted was soft on tyres ???

few of my very old school time freinds and very novice riders just came back a couple of weeks agoe from north .. there tour was comprised of more then two weeks (18days in total) and the roamed complete AJK then entered balakot from muzafarabad and then went to Astore/pasu and all uper region like deasai... on the way back the opted for the chitral route..... I mean they did not missed a single place....

and you know what the only face twp punctures one on a shitty GT road and other in again on some high way and they replaced tube themself in order to avoid any poor repairman handling.... I wonder why the situation totally tanked for you guys...

@vickytulla may be you are right as MMA was an experienced rider of north.

But there are some stats that contributed to fatal punctures

I was low on air pressure as i keep it low during off-roading
Pillion riding did soney pe sohaga, and we all know the under inflated tyre is prone to punctures
After that it was all mis-management as i didnt bothered to look into tyre which resulted into another puncture.
No experience when it comes to fixing punctures so that also contributed to again punctures
Not having any thing to shave off the tube and make it rough thus preparing to receive solution
Deducting all the odds, genuinely i had only 1 puncture. Rest were due to mis management
I had sequel of punctures after 2 years. Last time i had puncture was almost 2 years despite all those long tour's

By bikes tyre is specially designed for highway's its surface is not flat, and huge grip pattern on side allows me to lean more. Iam using Dunlop Cruiser

Please note one more thing, this is also from personal experience. And that is try to avoid taking your bikes to pathways or areas which are not usually used by the traffic. This includes rough shoulders of the roads, short excursions to the sides for examples at one time you went off road to a beach like area. Places which are not used by the regular traffic have nails and other sharp objects which damage the motorcycle tyres. Also particularly in Kashmir most of the construction is wooden and nails are an essential part of this construction so you find them everywhere. Avoiding less used tracks reduces your chances of getting punctures due to nails. Otherwise it is definitely most of the times your luck. Cheers,

You can skip packing your cloths but 3 to 4 tubes per bike is must to carry

Very nice tour guys! Thanks for sharing amazingly good pictures of Neelam Valley. Sorry to hear about your puncture (again n again) issues but these are the beauty of adventures. If all goes well in a riding to remote areas then we can not call it an adventure. Sadness, feeling of give up, anger and then hope, struggle and aim to face difficulties is the best part of adventures.

Why not rent a puncture wala for 5 days and give him a free ride along us... we sure will have relatively very powerful bikes in the pack to have even pillion rider with no issue...

You are quite right but wooden chips are more dangerous as compared to nails due to the area covered. And they can easily puncture tyre and Keel to Taobat track is full of those chips

Exactly !! There's no fun in trip unless you have one flat tyre, that why i wrote that adventurous opening post

Lol.. You cant go there before June-August as the whole area will be covered from snow. People cover distance on foot from Keel-Taobat

Luckily the Jimny guys were also leaving the same day so we put all out luggage in thier jeep and asked them we will patch up firstly in Shardah then in Muzaffarabad and then in Islamabad, exchanged phone nums as well

I bought my own puncture kit especially the sacred Air-Pump in-case needed as the other puncture kit was with MMA

And hence we left for Shardah by Sharp 9.20

Towards Shardah !!! Plan was to also visit Shardha university. Imranafzal was considering timings also. I told him you will be in Muzaffarabad by 6 at max. Just push bike as i do
