My city 2004 gives black smoke in the morning very often nowadays with oil particles coming out of the exhaust pipe too; it stops when the car has fully warmed-up. It's driven 115,000 Km on petrol throughout (no cng installed) on the same engine that came on delivery. The Oil level remains the same and i use Shell Helix HX5, changing it around 4,000 Km mileage on average.
During the weekdays, I only drive it to and from office i.e. i start the engine at 8.30 am in morning where i reach my office in 1 hour and then it stands cold in the parking throughout the day until 5 pm when i get off and head back to my home. I have to warm the engine up a little (like 3 to 5 mins) nowadays as compared to earlier where i used to start my car and just drive (i.e. didn't had to wait warming up the car this long, although i used to still warm it up for about 1 min or earlier). Otherwise the engine is great i.e. no other symptoms noticed. If i drive the car without warming up nowadays, the vario gear gives sound with improper, cold acceleration and it doesn't feels fine so i rather warm it up for a few mins before driving.
Any suggestions/advice as to what might be causing the black smoke out every morning? Is my engine meeting its life expectancy? Please also suggest how can i get it checked for the problem you identify. Thank you
