My personal reviewAcceleration, Corolla is faster but it is smooth so acceleration isn't felt or heard, if you got a passenger in front seat and he is busy fiddling with navi he won't know that you are going past 120 within city till he looks up it is that smooth I know because I was that passenger. BUT Civic feels faster because it makes more noise through each gear (Grande is silent till 5.5k rpm) and jerks at every gear shift.Handling, Civic is obviously better, Corolla has gotten better than previous generations as skidding is gone and only terrorizing body roll remains.Braking, on stock rims and tyres Civic was better but when both cars were installed with 17" rims, don't know how Corolla got better in braking infact when doing gt road runs at 160-170 the braking on the civic had to be modulated carefully to achieve straight and stable braking as car felt a bit unstable from the rear side (don't know what to call that maybe it is my personal gimick or I'm feeling too much) and on corolla you just brake hard.Comfort, Corolla is better, as I said speed can't be felt unless driver decides to brake hard for some reason, there is more space, the navigation has better connectivity options, the rear seat back angle can be adjusted.Interior, it is a matter of personal opinion, I like both, civic's two stage instrument cluster with iMid looks great in day, in night it is a bit of a distraction, separate rpm meter feels sporty but so does analog needles of corolla and the swing they make. The leather seats in toyota are okayish but since it is a 50k option in civic and better than those 7-8k after market seats so I'd vote for em, toyota has a total of 7 lights on its roof (Yes I counted). The glossy parts in corolla attract smudges from fingers. Civic's seats are a better fit for spirited driving, civic's navigation sounds better than corolla as its navi has some software(equalizer maybe) but due to which audio over bluetooth sounds much better than playing anything directly from corolla's navi, but corolla has better maps. Exterior, again it is a matter of personal opinion, Corolla is larger and Civic is sharper.Build Quality, there are compromises in build quality of both cars but I'd keep my opinion as it is already causing quite a war everywhere. I'd say both companies are looting consumers.
