Hello pakwheelers,
I sold a bike to some shop at akbar market almost 3 years ago and handed over complete documentation to him. He paid in cash and I signed the transfer of ownership papers such that the person could get the bike under his own name while no sales deed etc. was provided from his end since I wasn't aware of the process at that time and it was verbally committed that the bike will be registered under new name within a week or so. I really didn't care after that point and years past then I just see vehicle registration for that bike online for verification purposes and notice that the bike is still under my name. Now I don't have any sort of contact or identification of that owner or remember exactly where his shop is (tried visiting the market today and locate/identify to no avail).
Now I am not comfortable with the fact that there is a bike out there driven by someone that is still under my name with no relevant documentation provided by the other party or ownership transferred under his own name or name of whomever he sold it to afterwards. I realize that it is quiet some time since all this happened but I wasn't too vary about it back then. Please suggest what would be the appropriate course of action.
Try to locate the owner now and ask him to transfer the ownership under his own name Again... Now I don't even know how many times the bike has exchanged hands during 3 years (Failed, not an option now)
Write a letter to CPLC or some other entity (please suggest?) describing the situation.
Report the bike as stolen since I don't have the bike in my possession and it is still under my name. That will relief me of all responsibilities about the bike (This course of action is recommended and practiced at multiple countries internationally and in some US states).
This thing is really keeping me concerned nowadays and looking forward to put this matter to rest.
