i have owned the new swift since april and i hav not been happier. its more powerful thans a vitz any day and gives both the new city and the new GLI a run for its money in the city AND on the motorway..perfectly balanaced and well appointed. no comparison. the Vitz pales in front of it.
15 inch japanese factory alloys,ABS,Bridgestone factory fitted tires
4way cd player, immobilizer.1.3 liter 95 hp engine...balanced much better than the vitz.yes there is only manual tranny available..but this car deserves a manual!the sheer torque of this engine can only be enjoyed 2 the max thru the manual.

    my two bits.

Simply, New is better than old ("old is gold" doest work for cars).. just remember this and you will be fine.

    Good luck!

I've bought a 2007 vitz last week (only 9k driven, fresh import) and i must say it has no driving pleasure at all (no CNG in it).

The 1.0 liter vitz is for ladies ONLY... no acceleration and very good breaking with all the safety features but if you want a bit of kick when you press the pedal vitz is NOT an option....

Ist thing its not good to compare 1300cc car with 1000cc

but if you want then my votes goes with brand new swift.

Swift has bettr power to weight ratio.any time it can beat any 1300cc rolla or city in strght run.it can go side by side with vti as well.

but the only thing which it lack is air bag but in Pakistan evn rolla n othr markt mnstr car also dnt have so its the common thing. . .Bus ALLAH bachahy bury waqt sy.

Buy swift you will enjy its sprty looks n perfrmnce

Vitz comes in 1.3 and 1.5L engine as well. They are just not imported here. Here we are just importing the 1.0L version. You can also import the 1.3L RS version

Swift is cool new car and it has won hearts and minds everywhere. In india it is on 3rd number in sales and is selling like hot cakes.Average wait period is 2-4 months and it is selling 12000 units a month.Since its launch in 2005, 4.5 lac swifts have been sold.

With age, Swift gets faster off the sales block- Hindustan Times

Read below the lines from hindustan times about swift:
One of India's best-loved cars - Maruti Suzuki Swift - turns five on Tuesday and like all global legendary cars it does not show signs of ageing or slowing down.
By now, over 4.5 lakh Swifts are on the road in India, and after an engine upgrade earlier this year, the car still enjoys a waiting period of 1-4 months on both petrol and diesel variants.
"When it was initially launched, people were skeptical as it was such a radical looking car," said JS Rekhi, a Delhi-based Maruti dealer.
"As more and more cars were visible on the road, the word of mouth publicity saw demand surge and as a result, even after so many years it looks very fresh."
In a highly competitive small car market, Swift is the target for most new launches - from Volkswagen Polo to the upcoming Toyota Etios - in the premium compact segment.
Internationally as well, the car, is a raging success, exceeding demand in all major markets. Its sales were twice the target in the first year in Japan, while in Denmark it was in the top 3 for more than 2 years and the highest selling car in 2006.

ALMOST 95% all the parts of the Swift are imported. Any Suzuki person would confirm this. The Swift is only assembled here. As are the Civics and the Altis'. Vitz is not even an option that can be compared to the Swift. Swift is just way better in drive, build quality, handling, performance, brakes etc. The only reason people buy Vitz is because its available in auto. There's no other reason.

CNG is a strict no-no in automatic cars. Personal experience. Swift ka main kuch keh nahi sakta... Some owner who has a CNG converted Swift would be able to advise you better.

Fuel economy for Swift is 10-12 km/L if you drive it hard. 13-15 km/L if you keep the rpm on or below 3000 revs.
