    Default WTB : Vitz Fuel Filter

    Hi,

    I need to replace my Vitz 2007/08 fuel filter (original genuine). Can anyone tell me what would be the price and where can I buy it from in Karachi.

    Many have said to go for Malaysian which costs about 900 but I prefer to go for genuine. What do you guys suggest?

    Thanks

    Why do you want to change it?

    In the mornings car sort of chokes a bit after starting like it struggling to maintain for a few secs and then is normal engine running. Same also happens in the evenings after parking for a long time say 7-8 hours. Then it runs fine and starts fine after the first start both in the mornings and evenings after work.

    Also mileage is very bad around 8-9 kms / litre. Replaced air filter (thai) spark plugs (original denso iridium) cleaned throttle body complete in January.

    Can't think of anything else so I have been advised to replace fuel filter

    Try cleaning the catalytic converter in the exhaust or better yet, get rid of it.. U will feel the difference.

    @hdaackda

    I don't want to touch the cat converter as there is no problem in pick or drive. Seems fine as such. Would the CAT converter cause mileage problems or starting issues.

    Battery also is checked and working fine.

    Actually, the cat converter does not cause any starting issue. It will just improve the pick and mileage yes (if its choked). It will also change the sound of ur car slightly. So if u think its fine than dont remove it

    Hi.
    I am using Vitz 2006 .As per this forum Fuel Filter should be changed every 40K kilomenter or after 2-3 years(Toyota guys were also saying the same thing).Just checked and found that new fuel filter costs around Rs. 13,000 from Toyota and around 7,500 from the market as genuine one comes with complete assembly and no just the filter.
    I dont have the vitz 2006 manual but acccording to this toyota delarship in Lahore Service Schedule | TOYOTA Airport
    ,it should be changed after 80K kilometers for Vitz 2006 onwards

    Any experiences?
