    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

I visited Toyota Ravi today to check if they had OEM brake pads available with them or not. They had Toyota OEM front brake pads for which they quoted me Rs. 10K. However, there part number is not compatible with the Toyota Vitz KSP-130 (3rd-Gen 2011-2015).
To clear up the confusion, I went to Bilal Gunj to inspect the brake pads of the half-cuts which are available there.
The brake-pads which come originally from Japan are AISIN Adivcs OEM P/N: 04465-74020. Whereas the ones being sold by Toyota Ravi are made NBK Japan with a different OEM P/N. But these ones are easily available on Montgomery Road for Rs. 3600-4000 per set.
By mistake, i already bought a set from Montgomery Road 3-4 days ago and they are the same ones being offered by Toyota Ravi and other 3S Dealers. I took this set along with me to Bilal Gunj to check if they can be used in place of original pads from Japan.
I was able to fit them properly in place of original pads, however there was slight mismatch of the width of pads which can easily result in damaging the brake-discs("TAWA").
I am surprised to see that Toyota 3S Dealers are so dumb that they are selling a different P/N to unsuspecting customers while over-charging them. The ones sold by Toyota Ravi and others are actually OEM Brake pads for 1st Gen and 2nd Gen Vitz but not for 3rd Gen because KSP130 Vitz has a slightly different design wheel hub.
Tomorrow i will go out and search for Aisin Advics P/N 04465-74020 for my vitz.

    Is it new shape?
Mine is giving me 16km/L without AC these days ( new shape vitz 2011)
Get your car properly inspected and tuned from Toyota 3S.
Get its throttle body cleaned, plugs changed, replace all filters.
And which oil are you using?

Fresh import doesn't means that the car needs no maintenance... Usually Vitz are 50-90k driven in Japan and our dealers sell them after meter reversing....
    ...
On the contrary note, getting a grande in place of Vitz is a wise decision, if u could afford grande, I wonder why would u opted for Vitz earlier ..

Fresh import doesn't mean brand new. It could be accidented or high mileage car. None the less, there is no comparison between vitz and grande. You should have opted the latter in the first place.

Update: So I have finally managed to find the actual OEM Front Brake Pads for my Vitz KSP-130. Their Part # is 04465-74020. They are also OEM Front Brake Pads for Toyota iQ. They are the exact same ones which came factory installed from Japan.
These brake-pads were only available with Kamal Autos' Montgomery Road, LHR. The price they charged was Rs. 5,300 for the set, and I think it is quite reasonable considering that the same parts would have costed me in excess of Rs. 8,000 had I ordered them from eBay or Amazon.
While searching for them, I went to at least 7 to 8 OEM parts retailers in the vicinity and everyone was giving me the same pads which were available with Toyota Ravi and other 3S dealers. However, the prices they were charging was in the range of Rs. 3600 to Rs. 4,200. In comparison, Toyota Ravi and other 3S dealers are selling them for Rs. 10,000, despite the fact that they are not really meant for this model of Vitz. They can be used, but in the long run they will severely damage the brake rotors.
