    Default Toyota Vitz "Dart"

    Toyota Vitz &quotDart" -1595349

Asalamoalaikum Dear Friends! After painstaking deliberations I finally sold Hornet (a brand new 2015 Corolla GLi AT) over which I tried uselessly to wrap my head around but couldn't quite convince myself to keep it.
Saved some greens for future and on 27th of Ramadhan, by the grace of Almighty Allah, He has blessed me with Dart (2013 Toyota Vitz 1.0L in white colour). Join in to like/dislike, contribute and share your experiences or views about this new purchase.

KSP90 has no sporty element, it's suspension is just normal. Where as KSP130 is sporty and has very good balanced suspension and better steering response. Moreover KSP130 is more spacious specially the boot. Lastly new Vitz is a bit more fast and quiet inside and gives 1km/l more average. The draw back of new Vitz is that it has less cabins and poor placement of cup holders and I found its build quality to be a little bit poor then 2nd gen vitz, though it's still awesome and way ahead of any PKDM. Also new vitz has more information in its gauge cluster such as temperature and mileage and also new vitz has auto lights which I love
@Nabeel_Ali thanks for the input. My observation of KSP-130 is that its dashboard is very plain. KSP-90 had so much storage that my friends used to call it pocketon wali gari (with so many pockets all around) and didn't look bad at all. KSP-130 lacks a lot in that. Similarly, front seats are cramped as well. Rear seats have same leg spaceas previous model but you are right about trunk space. Its huge for KSP-130.

As for mileage, I used to touch 19km/liter in my KSP-90 on M2 without a/c and 17-18 km/liter with a/c. In city driving my avg mileage was 14-15km/liter with a/c. How does KSP-130 compares in this?

Fouad Bhai, the Toyta Lexus oil is API SM classified meant for vehicles for year 2010 and below. From 2011, SN classification is being used with many added properties one important one being catalytic converter protection. My suggestion is to go with API SN / ILSAC GF-5 which is also recommended for new Vitz models.

    API SN Engine Oil Category

In 2010 the American Petroleum Institute introduced a new engine oil category under the name API SN and a new supplemental category called Resource Conserving.

The API SN category is an improvement over the API SM category in the following areas:

High temperature deposit protection for pistons
    Better sludge control
    Better seal compatibility
    Aftertreatment compatibility
This means that API SN compares to API SM like this:

API SN and API SM comparison chart

API SN and API SM comparison chart

The Resource Conserving supplemental category requires further properties. The former supplemental category, which was called Energy Conserving required only fuel saving properties from the oil. Resource Conserving requires further properties like:

    emission system protection
    turbocharger protection
compatibility with engines operating on ethanol containing fuels, up to E-85
The requirements of API SN with the Resource Conserving supplemental category are identical to the requirements of the ILSAC GF-5 standard.

In order for an oil to meet the requirements of API SN or API SN/Resource Conserving it should satisfy the following test criterias:

API SN API SN + RC
    Viscosity Grades 0W20, 0W30, 5W20, 5W30, 10W30 Others Multigrade variations of 0W, 5W and 10W
    Laboratory Tests

    TEOST MHT 35 45 35
    TEOST 33C NR NR 0.6

    Gelation Index 12 NR 12
Emulsion Retention NR NR No Water Separation
Seal Compatibility ILSAC GF-5 limits apply
    Phosphorous, max% / min% 0.08 / 0.06 NR / 0.06 0.08 / 0.06
    Engine Tests

MashaAllah, congrats on the new ride on eid. I still haven't read the reason for letting go of your corolla soon after getting it. But its not important.
Ive got gen1 and gen2 with me and have kept gen 3 for some 15-20 day. To me it feels like they upgrade gen2 from gen1 and then downgraded gen3. Although drive seems to be better in gen3. Yes the spacious boot but that comes at the cost of rear legroom.

I know you also have a gen2 vitz in your home so I'd like to hear a small comparison of the 2nd and 3rd gen from your side.

Happy shopping eid Mubarak and congrats on the new ride once again. Oh BTW in case you know where to source the original centre armrest get 2 I want one aswell.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

Excellent information. Point noted. Will be changing the engine oil after 1000 KMs anyways.

Thank you very much for the warm wishes. The comparison is due and I myself can't wait to post it here ASAP.

A source has promised me that he is getting some rare and mouth watering stuff for both generations of Vitz. He even hinted at genuine spoiler body kits (JDM). So lets see. If I got the arm rest, which I you just read my mind, will get two. And even if one, you will get it first. I can wait since I got some other things in mind.

These Tires came pre installed when i bought my Swift, The Grip of these Tires were Just Love, Car Was very fun to drive on smooth roads but Bumpy Roads pe nani yaad ajati hai, Swift Suspension is already very stiff and these tires tires made it even more worst,
Highly not recommended if u have to travel alot on bumpy roads but if u have to drive alot on smooth roads and highways then these tires r best..

    Looking great....

Why not replace your existing tail lights with that of RS or Gs... These shall look great on your car being white in color..

I too shall get these installed end of this month on my Vitz 2013 (black color).

This is what I am talking about:

Fouad Bhai, one advise on tyres brand is that if you are still to replace tyres, then go for Bridgestone or Michellin; these are the best brands with regards to quality and standards.

    Free Giveaway Contest
In the next 32 hours, I will post a picture question. The gentleman guessing the correct answer will get a brand new Meguiar's Ultimate Wash and Wax Anywhere (Waterless) worth approx Rs.1700/- (Retail). In case of a tie between two or more members, @KamranAslam will do the honors of a draw and announce the winner. Winner from Rawalpindi / Islamabad will have to collect himself within 6 hours of announcement otherwise prize will be cancelled. Other members will have to pay for shipping through TCS.

Hint: The question may be posted at any odd time just to keep you guys excited. Give maximum likes and subscribe (which will increase your chances of winning........at that very odd time lolz)
