The Cabin air filter original was around 1000-1500. Since it only cleans the cabin air, I bought a Guard Cabin Air Filter.

Cost me 250/- Rupees Only. (No more smell when I turn on the Fan)

Bro even I ws having the problem of bad smell when turning on the fan. Now it doesn't happen. Can you please tell me in detail as to why this smell comes?

Well I read on this forum somewhere where one user was experiencing foul smell from his air con. He was advised to check his Cabin Air Filter. He replaced it and the smell was gone.

I was facing the same problem (some strange smell from the air blower). I opened up the maintenance manual and found that the Cabin Air Filter is located under the Glove Box compartment. The filter was so dirty that it had gone beyond the point of cleaning. Bought a Cabin Air Filter for 250/- and installed it. The smell is gone now. As the Cabin Air Filter only cleans cabin air, therefore it in no way, effects car performance; so I didn't buy the costly one.

The smell comes because it gets dirty (scientifically: air + dust + filter paper + moisture = bad smell)
Clean it regularly. While Cleaning, blow air only from the Outlet to Inlet side (otherwise the dust gets much deeper into the filter).

weird situation....

my swift in neutral or 1st gear sounds like if its going in reverse. the same humming u will get in reverse in normal cars. in neutral when i push the clutch, the noise goes away..

is it just me or its normal for swift?

Is it fixed or does it still makes that sound? My swift started to make that sound too and my driver said that chances are that it is because of changing the gear oil. He was talking about shooker aur pta nahi kiya kiya keh raha tha. I changed my gear oil recently so I can say that the sound is because of the change of gear oil.

Ok ho gya

RPM's at 80kmph in 5th gear= 2050.
RPM's at 100kmph in 5th gear=2950.
RPM's at 120kmph in 5th gear=3300

My car's RPM's are 3k with speed of 110kmph bt dnt knw why its 80 on 2.5k

I wish i could install Altis manual tranny to swift- 6 Gears Or a LSD maybe?

Every car has different gear ratios. Still, City is more fuel efficient than Swift!

Aahh altis 6 speed is too gud bt personally i love new reborn with prosmatic gear box...its way too comfy to drive in city

You haven't driven a DSG yet... Awesome car for Pakistan would be auto and 7&8 gears. Awesome mileage on motorway:)

I am experiencing the same sound. I ve changed gear oil at 5k but now it has done 11k and the sound appears now. Anybody have any idea??

Millage update of Swift Automatic purchased in January 2014.

Previous refill for full tank = 35.6 liter

Current refill for full tank = 38.65 liter

Total distance travelled between the two refills = 482 KM

Millage 482/38.65 == 12.47 KM/Liter

The previous refill was done from a new petrol station and my brother felt issue with the car pickup. It felt underpowered, for this current refill he went back to the good reputation petrol station (Shell Station on 5-Sarki, near Hearts International, RWP) and according to him the car felt very responsive and great pickup like the first day.

Obviously fuel quality matters a lot, so avoid stations that have poor quality fuel.
