10th Gen 1.6L Corolla from Indus

The facelift for the Corolla was launched on the 11th of April 2011. Initially only the XLi and GLi trims were available, with modifications to the front and rear lights and bumper, along with a revised interior colour scheme. The 1.8L Corolla Altis with 1ZZ-FE engine was suspended and later was replaced with the 1.6L Corolla Altis with the 1ZR-FE engine producing 124 bhp. The Altis was launched on 25th of May 2011. The Altis came equipped standard with sideskirts, wooden inserts in the interior, optitron speedometer, 10-spoke alloy rims, fog lamps, power windows, power seats, ABS with EBD, driver side SRS airbag and a 6 speed (forward) manual transmission. Optional on the Altis is a 4 speed super ECT automatic transmission and sunroof. The GLi is also being offered with a 4 speed super ECT automatic transmission and the 1.6L 1ZR-FE engine, the same on the Altis. This version of the GLi is the same as the 1.3L GLi, albeit with the 1.6L engine, optitron speedometer and the 4 speed ECT automatic transmission, hence making it very similar to the Altis, save for the alloy rims, side skirts and the wooden inserts in the interior.

though its a brand new vehicle but i couldnt resist to check the initial pickup and fuel consumption and am sharing with u all ,,,,do consider its a brand new and will improve even further..

i launched it at 7.5 seconds of the video that i am posting and it reached a 100 kmph at 16.4 thats under nine seconds and fuel consumption in 6th gear is around 18 to 19 without cheating

They should remove "6 Speed" sticker; its ugly, cheap and reminds me of reconditioned 86 Corollas with "5 Speed" badges

They either reintroduce Tiptronic and then call this "Cruisetronic" or else they should re-badge it as "Cruisematic" or something

This thread is under Fans Clubs section and is targeted for owners and fans of 10th gen 1.6L Corolla i-e 1.6 GLi A/T and 1.6 Altis etc. Many of those threads have discussions before the launch and this thread will hopefully have after launch info and discussions and I request from owners to do share as much as possible, info like fuel consumptions, how it stands against older 1.8 Altis to trying out CNG on ZR engine

Further many owners dont want to start dedicated threads for their rides under members area like my friend who today got Altis due to number of reasons; such members should feel free to use this "Fan Club" thread for short posts or occasional discussions.

Lastly there are other threads for other cars in this category and this new Corolla being facelift and more importantly having newer engine I guess desrves its own fan club?
