Tyre Selection For Honda City Aspire Prosmatec 2012

Assalam-O-Alaikum

Honda City Aspire Prosmatec 2012 comes with General - Euro Star in size 175/65 R 15. Could the forum members please help me in selecting new tyres for it as i dont like General and size 175, i want it more wider. Which tyre would be the best buy keeping in mind, Road Grip and Comfort are my priorities. And it should fit in nicely giving it a nice look and separation from the upper and inner walls and a decent ground clearance. Kindly also shed some light on speedometer errors (i want to remain close to the original one means less error) and fuel consumption when giving suggestions.

Would be glad for all the assitance and your experience shared here.

Changing the size of tyres will void your car's warranty.

IF you are concerned about fuel economy also.
then michellin energy savers 195/65/r15.

Otherwise I'm using Dunlop sp sport with 205/65/r15 size.
Car looks really hot. Handling and controlling is fantastic.

195/65/15 would be the perfect size.
However the suspension warranty will be void.

I have narrowed down to Michellin Energy Saver and Yokohama DNA dB. Is size 190/60 R15 available in the market and whats the price? Wouldnt 195/65 R15 too wide as it comes in Civic? What if i go for Michellin Energy Saver in original stock size, can anyone let me know of the cost? And for how much General EuroStar should sell?

First of all i congratulate u for ur new car, i wish that u post some photos of ur car, tire slection is really a big problem with honda city users. i keep the honda prosmatic city 2 and half year, it's a really efficient and enjoyable ride. y i sale that car i replace it's tire with 195/65r15 michlien energy saver and i lost the driving pleasure, car feel bouncy. so i suggest u change the tire with the similar size or keep the air low (28)in ur stock, u will driving. fuel comsumption of city prosmatic is 11 to 12 in city and 15 to 21 on high way depend upong ur driving style.

My brother had 195 tyres installed in his new city 2009. After 60,000Km the eps started to feel hard. Upon inspection from the honda 3s dealers, they said that the wider tyres had put extra unwanted strain on the eps system and its efficiency had decreased.

Please keep this in mind, i might be wrong , perhaps wider tyres might not put stress on the system , there was something else wrong and that the 3s people blamed the wider tyres.

had 195 michln energy removed it after 3 days( they felt like car is running on baloons..may be it was my prejudice/doubt, went fr yokohama db they became hard v soon and had less grip all u get is some low noise thats it , now using dunlop sp sport 300 in 185 65 r15 n v v v happy with it, they are not so soft not so hard, and in intl market( aus and us) 185 is the size frm the factoy nt 175 nor 195. dunlop sp sport are rough n tough n are less bouncy and is good in summer n less grippy in rain BTW. dont go for dunlp lm702 they are good for cowrolla but not for city's brick suspension. sp sport were given with civic 2003 till 2005, will cost u 7 to 8k for a piece.

either go for 185 or directly 205 50 r15 n enjoy the looks ...ye beech ki game may kcuh nahy hay. cz 185 n 195 looks exactly the same thn y nt to go fr factory spec i.e 185?

have yokhama AVS db V550, 195/65/15 and they are awsome, comfortable ride excelent grip and handling, and low road noise, read the review of this tyre aswelll and you would surely come to knw it a goooood tyre, and yup i got totally fresh tyres ie 0412 ie 4rth week 2012, and you should also find the same if not these go foe Bridgestone Turanza 195/65/15 made in france and you would love it, but again go for the fresh tyres bro

I am a car racer and my point of vioew and suggestion that japanis tyre is so good and better in result .Because it is soft that are required soft tyre for the road Griffith.Its less chances of blast as like general tyres because general tyre are so hard and slim than japanies tyres.....

the tyre size perfect for city is 195/60R15 and not 195/65R15. The latter is too big in terms of end to end diameter and wall height...i use michelins of size 195/60R15 but i wld still recommend yokohamas advan db coz they are softer and quiter than the michelins.

the rim width for honda city is 5 inches, so technically speaking the maximum width of tyre u can go for is 185,,, above this would disturb the rim width to tyre width proportionality, and may compromise the stability of your car.

so the best choice is 185/55/15.

Thats what im telling every op who asks for it but here people just have faith in two things, DB DB DB and 195. DB is a death trap in rain(u can search forums) as it has very narrow lines for the water to disperse (thats y they are quite) m not saying they are nt good, they are good but fr cars equipped with stability control and abs. after trying almost every normal brand i,e yoko dunlop michlin kumho bridgestone ill take dunlop sp sport for grip, db for comfort, bridgestone fr mehran n coure and michlin for nothing!lols
