a prado 2.7 l petrol of a person i know was having gud gud sound from rear for few days and i was occupied in work extended hours to extend any help for few days. the irritated driver took it to Toyota 3S on Korangi road they gave an estimate of 3500 for diagnosis and car be left over night the driver was bit wise and drove back. This morning we xchanged rides I arrived at abdul hameed & sons at 10 Bhai Jan Afzal came at 10.25 went for a test drive asked me to wait have cup ov T ( i don't fancy T ) . He asked his person to jackup the rear - 25 minutes and 4 bush change later the suv was silent again. He asked for 1500 all included paid upfront and before noon exchanged the ride with ' OWNER '

after going through this thread yesterday i went to Mr. afzal for my car's (corolla 2.0D saloon 2003) suspension. it was having many weird sounds on rough road, used to hit almost every breaker, car had lil sway too, on acceleration steering used to go slightly towards right and on braking slightly left, ride wasn't smooth and it was over soft !

reached his shop around 12 noon, went for test drive and after test drive afzal's comment was "apki gari bethi hui nai leti hui hai"

work started, all four shockers were weak, refilled them, front springs were original so kept them while back ones were some desi springs (installed by shah jee) they were replaced with kabli springs, front side was also done, dont know names of all the parts but i have the receipt which names them as ball joint, rack end, tie rod, linker, etc.

work was completed at about 7.30pm after that we went for test drive now MASH ALLAH car was very smooth, no sounds, no sway, no other problem !

total bill was Rs. 15,500.

Surfing here I feel like I am finding the best of best places. Although I am in the process of making a list, I think I know where to head for suspension work and where to head for AC work (Bashir). Now if only I could find one proper mechanic other than the snobby khan motors to diagnose a idle dip, service my throttle body and IAC and also replace my Oxygen sensors!

My mechanic is an expert in throttle body servicing. However I am not sure about the rest. and the best ac workshop is of sabir. Sabir has his setup in north nazimabad block k. His work is unmatchable

Agreed with hassaaniqbal92 for AC sabir bhai is the best, Xulfiqar bhai recommended, I also got my car serviced from Bashir AC but he is just not that good in diagnosing the problem.

For throttle body service you can go to Vicky 03002761044 near disco bakery or Torque engineering Address:163 bahadurabad block 3 street 24. Mushir khan Phone: 03212435225.

Anyways I guess why risk it will head over to Sabir then....waiting for August to correct everything on the car. Details plz!!!!

Well I visited his shop around 11 am, although I was supposed to be there by 9:30.
I handed him over the keys and he took the car for a test drive and identified all the faults.
all for shockers were jammed up, the steering rack was making strange sounds. He dismantled the entire suspension and then told me the estimate:

All four shockers were to be remanufactured which is afzal bhai's core competence.
the steering rack was in bad shape but was repairable and was sent for repair
The rubber bushings had to be replaced. He told me the specs I had to purchase them myself from the market
the shocker mountings were also broken so they were also purchased

As soon as the rack was repaired and the shockers were remanufactured, the installation started.
The psf was also replaced. The car was ready around maghrib and the drive was entirely different. All sounds were gone and the drive was very smooth and grippy

Afzal bhai suspension shop the area is called saeed manzil it is famous by the name of rubber market, there is a rabri wala there its just beside him, shop name is abdul hameed and sons. Write rubber market karachi on google maps you will get the location.

My civic's power steering had completely failed last night. The steering has become rock stiff. Who should I pay a visit to get it fixed????
