This evening while I was backing up my car an old metal piece, probably a roughly cut pole or a water pipe ripped the right rear tyre.
About an hour ago I was discussing with a friend that it was about time that I should replace the Yokohama Aspec A300s 185/65/14 as they had run for more than 40,000 kms in exactly four years.
So instead of getting the replacement for the the torn tire, I changed all fours with Dunlop Eco EC 201 195/70/14.
Each tyre cost me 4,800 rupees, total expenditure 19,300 rs. Another shop quoted 5,200 for the LM series.
The tires are fresh and bear the manufacturing year of 2008.
Old ones had 2003 as year of manufacturer, so they really ran beyond their shelf life and did well during two trips from Islamabad to Faisalabad.
Will post better pix later, but this one are in bad light and had no time to get the car washed today and had to go to a place where a building was underconstruction and lot of mud and slush stuck to tires and cars.
Shop: Tyre Center, Melody Market, Islamabad.
First impressions: The tires are noiseless. Brakes and grip have both improved a lot, so is the cornering despite wider and higher profile.
Decided to go for 70 profile because at bumps sometime the car used to hug the ground.
Here are pix for the sake of it.
