Well, this is something I shared with a few friends and they had a good laugh out of it. thought to share here. Well, advance maafi from any designers on this forum.
Honda: Well, the one aspect that outshines all other for the Honda models we have here is its boldness. They seem original and concept-driven. As if there is a BFA/MFA graduate from NCA was given the task. They will develop the concept first and will do the design based on the concept. They can give a whole lecture on why a certain curve was added that way and if there had been even a slight variation, how it would have ruined the whole design. They often charge an arm and a leg and will always be proud of their creation.
Toyota: Toyota designs are described as mediocre at best. it seems as if someone tried to be creative but fell short. Think of this as a BFA/MFA from Punjab university fine arts department. They will get the job done and if needed, they can build a story around it. But their designs will always have that nasreen, perween feeling of the girls who take dupattas on their heads fully covering themselves, when they are in their homes or on the way to the university but somehow it slips to their shoulders. They are always divided between the values they are brought up with and the values they look around them. almost all toyota designs seems to be carrying that confused feeling. Just look at the few bumper designs by them, as if someone tried to carve a forced smile out of it but ended up grimacing face.
Suzuki: Now comes my favorite one, have you ever visited Urdu Bazar? Saw those printing press where you will always find someone with a CD and older version of coral draw. He will ask you few questions about your personal likes/dislikes, colors, objects, will take you through a series of all those, will mix everything to your liking and viola, your design is ready. This is how it seems Suzuki designs their sedans to me.
Please of you liked this post, I need your valuable advice here... chip in.
