Hello Everyone.
I would like to share my experience of my recent visit to Murree.
I left for Murree with my family (total 5 persons) for a two day stay only . I reached Murree at around 3 pm on Friday.
I usually stay at DILKUSHA HOTEL . When you reach ADDA of Murree, go a little further and you will see a high gate on the left side and on top will be written "DILKUSHA HOTEL"
Problem was that when I went inside the gate , after about 10 yards, the car refused to climb even though:
1. VSA was off (I usually keep it off).
2. The ECONO MODE was off.
3. The car was in "S" gear (I had shifted to S gear from Valley park (chitar Park area), as I don't drive in hilly areas in "D" mode.
I had to disembark 4 passengers (my children and my wife) and then the car slowly climbed the rest of the way to Dilkusha Hotel.
This was a very very bad and disappointing point for me. I had spent upwards of 84 lacs on the car and it was causing problem while climbing. Even though there is no oxygen problem in Murree like there is in Babusar top and in some areas of Naran.
Even an Alto passed me by when I was climbing (without the passengers).
There is definitely a serious problem with the cars transmission.
Even when Glory 580 was introduced, people took the company to court in Malaysia because it also could not climb hills with load if stopped on a slope. Glory has changed the gear in Glory 580 PRO and have solved this problem.
However, I think that if I had brought the car at speed from some ways off, then the car could have (maybe) climbed the slope of Dilkusha Hotel. I don't need to do this for my BRV or my previous car toyota corolla 1.3 (both manual).
i previously had a corolla 2008 model 1.3 engine (old design) and even it climbed up this area. Also my BRV manual also climbs up this area.
Also if you want to stay in Al- Badr Hotel or Souvenir Hotel which are some what adjacent to Dilkusha , then their route is up the CECIL HOTEL Gate which also has a higher angle of climb as compared to Dilkusha hotel. This Cecil Hotel Gate comes on the left side and is around 500 yards before Dilkusha Hotel Gate.
I can expect something like this from my 1.2 city cvt but not from HRV.
It is very clear to me that had I gone to Hunza , I could not have come back that route. This is so because when you are climbing from Chilas to Babusar top, the ascent is quite steep and also there is a problem of low oxygen level. However climb to Babusar top from Naran side is not very difficult.
So definitely if you want to visit Hunza in HRV, then take only one person along, then the car may be able to climb easily.
Serious suggestions are requested from members in this important matter please.
