Why such a gruesome trip?allow me to walk you through the conception of it. It?s nothing that has not been done before.
Our fellow countrymen have achieved far greater feats than this. Our brother Moin Khan did a solo trip much more adventurous than this on his Vespa. Another Pakistani brother Kamran has recently travelled all the way from Germany and on his way to Layyah (a city in south Punjab) on his bicycle. So what?s the big deal? Well to be honest our trip, by comparison, is nothing.
We are regular visitors of our beautiful North and have had many amazing trips previously on 4X4s and I would like to thank my brothers of the 4x4Engaged? Club and Team Unimog who inculcated this urge of enjoying our beautiful country in the true sense. Saqib Janjua AKA Janj, Adeel Khalid AKA Deedee Team Unimog, Muhammad Omer Javed AKA MOJ, Khawar Khilji AKA KK, Aamir Hafeez AKA Saint, Kashif Qayum Khan AKA Fihsak, Yasir Qayum Khan AKA YQK, Rao Hamid AKA RKR, Imran AKA Immi, Raza AKA Razaz, Jehanzeb Nasir AKA JZ bhai, Bilal Husain Akhtar AKA Hotice and Ahmad Butt AKA Ahmz Team Unimog; all these senior members of 4x4Engaged? and Team Unimog are to blame for this craziness inside me :p. Many thanks brothers for bringing out the best in me, or so I hope J
It was last year when Deedee, Ahmad Butt AKA Ahmz, Bilal Hussain Akhtar AKA Hotice and yours truly toyed with the idea of restoring some old Vintage Vespas just for fun rides within the city and started the process of restoring some for ourselves.
As it happened as soon as we (Myself, Salman Majid and Bilal Ahmad Chaudhary) came back from our trip to the North last year on Bilal's Land Cruiser 80 series which made our trip as trouble free and as comfortable as possible, in which we visited Khunjarab Pass, Naltar, Phander, Shandoor, Chitral, Kalash and Lowari Pass (so full of ourselves on our accomplishment that we have visited so many landmarks in 8 days); we got to know of a young gentlemen (Sorry I have forgotten his name) who had travelled up to Khunjarab Pass on a Honda CG125, I believe, with his wife and young baby. And this really ticked something inside; Leh dasso! Hum aeiwaaeein hi cheetaay banaay phirtay hein, I thought to myself?
And it all started from there?
